A tip of my cap to UF. The Gators will wake up as the only team in college baseball who is playing to win a national championship tomorrow night. LSU is in a must win situation.
Singer was phenomenal but in the end, LSU cost themselves with overaggressive baserunning, weak pitching and one bad track on a double. Really pleased that despite the miscues, LSU outhit the Gators, scratched across runs, produced up and down the lineup in pressure situation, all of which came against fantastic arm talent for UF.
Florida has fantastic pitching depth, but as an LSU Fan I am very confident about our combination of starting pitching and bullpen versus the Gators moving forward. I'm also upbeat about our approach at the plate. We had a lot of whiffs but we barreled up the ball and had something like 7 or 8 hits versus Singer.
I've been impressed with O'Sullivan's ability to produce consistently elite pitching staff's and UF is in position to win it all tomorrow.
Here's to a well-played, clean game where the best team wins. I am incredibly proud of LSU win or lose, but I'm also happy that if we have to lose, this conference's absolutely and utter superiority over all others in this sport is demonstrated yet again.

Indeed, we hit better than I thought we would. That's a compliment to Florida's pitching staff.

Bump for a late night congratulations to the Florida Gators. LSU simply played-and perhaps managed-too poorly to overcome their mistakes against a team as good as Florida. An extra walk on a longer-than-needed hook. Two galling errors at first base there. Repeated poor baserunning. It was all just too much.
Walker's forearm had this team's engine smoking in the Winner's Bracket. But we put the hammer down and roared out of there in amazing, compelling fashion to best FSU and then-improbably-Oregon State.
But UF simply had better pitching and-if I'm being honest-more poise on this stage than did our Tigers.
Congrats to my Tigers on a run for the ages and congrats to the Gators. You deserve it. You were the better team.
