Solid bump. So easy the cocks waltzed into the supers.

The way we hit with runners in scoring position we could have had 3 high school JV teams in our region and still lost.

It was an article and most Gamecock fans in this thread said no we weren't. What was funny about this thread is all the Arkansas fans that bitched out of nowhere. Including Drewbie coming in talking about Costello again.

When does Arkansas play Maryland btw?

I was a little hurt at scroosters comments so I was hoping he would come back and show himself.

Nothing against the rest if y'all. USC is fine in my book

Just because we lost doesn't mean this thread wasn't inaccurate. Never did any Gamecock say "yep, we got this, easy road, here we come Supers" Regardless of what the outcome was going to be the stats were largely in our favor.

And does Arky really have any shite to talk? Have you guys even gotten out of a regional since we bounced you guys out of Omaha?

Should be a barn-burner. I assume it will be at Arkansas instead of Maryland.

And where did Georgia play this weekend? Couldn't find any of their scores.

In all seriousness, this has not been a good postseason for the SEC so far.

If LSU can beat UH tonight maybe they can make a run and count the regional as a wake up call. I don't see Ole Miss beating ULL. Vandy might be our only hope.

Again, the result doesn't change the content of the article I posted. Just because we fricked up doesn't mean it wasn't one of the easiest regionals handed out.

I'm rooting for Ole Miss. Always love a true underdog.

Hope to watch them dogpile when they punch their first ticket to Omaha in who knows how long. Then, I hope they go further.

Yes. It sucks we bowed out so soon. With that said at least all our rivals, both reality rivals and rant rivals, have also been eliminated, if they even got into the damn thing.

What is Kennesaw State? I had never heard of them before the matchups were announced.

USC fans...are y'all pleased with the coaching effort after tanner leaving? I haven't had much time to follow other teams as much as I used to

Yes. It's not so much a coaching issue as it is injuries and mistakes. We had hits. We just couldn't get the hits at the right time. We went cold.

We didn't have a bad season. Regional host, 40+ wins. Faced a tough Maryland squad that won something like 16 of their last 18. Am I disappointed we didn't make it? Yes. Am I seeing problems in the coaching staff that need fixing? Not yet.

I think Holbrook's fine, what he had to deal with in the regular season and still get us above 40 wins was pretty incredible. Was it disappointing to lose to Maryland? Sure, but they were clearly the better team because they came through when they had RISP we simply didn't. It's hard to follow up a legend & I think our fanbase is a little spoiled after the 3 year run we had. Hell before we went on a 3 year run Tanner couldn't even get out of Regionals for 3 straight years so. As long as Holbrook continues to get us into the postseason and get us to Omaha every now and then I'm fine with him as the HC.

Im in the minority. I said at the time of his hiring I think other people should have been interviewed before simply handing him the keys. Had Tanner interviewed other candidates and then decided on Holbrook I would be alright with that but Im not a fan of just giving someone whose never been an HC the keys to an elite baseball program. In his two years as HC we have regressed each year. Its just my opinion and my opinion only, that the players have also regressed. Players should be getting better each year, and they simply are not. Joey makes more errors for someone whose been in the program for 3 years more than anyone I've ever seen. He played on my cousins travel team so I saw him all throughout middle school and high school and he just seems to have gotten worse each year he's been at Carolina. Maybe its just the way we lost at home and then turn around and got slaughtered last night that has me feeling this way right now. Maybe in a few days I'll have a different take on it, but since Holbrook has taken over the team just doesn't have chemistry and doesn't have a true leader like the teams of Tanner. I think Holbrook also waits to long to make decisions and just has a kind of "lost" look on his face in the dugout at times. Maybe that just part of not having much experience. Im not for firing him yet, but if next year is worse than this year the seat should get hot IMHO. I can honestly see this in a couple of years ending bad for Holbrook as you can't help but compare Holbrook's situation with Smoke Laval. He was an assistant coach under a hall of fame coach, Skip Bertman, and then given the keys to the best program in the country when Skip Bertman became the LSU AD. And then the program went into decline, getting worse every year until Bertman had to let him go.
