wait...you called the State of Missouri "Mizzou" when you live here?

That's weird.

Citizens of those cities are happy that a weirdo who calls the State of Missouri "Mizzou" is no longer stalking the streets at night and peeking thru the fencing at school playgrounds.

Glad you're gone!

You lived in St. Louis and didn't see any Mizzou fans? What an idiotic lie.

Truth be told, they were probably all in Cards gear.

Yeah even in the Big 8 days there was plenty of Mizzou gear. If anything for one of college basketball's elite teams. But the guy is clearly an internet poster making stuff up to fit his argument.

I mean I do. Its a thread intended to falsely inflate the ego of Mizzou posters.

Do you not understand why I have a valid criticism?

It is a Mizzou thread dominated by Mizzou posters. They are never going to get it and they certainly do not take your point well.

Many are giving the Tigers credit for winning the East, just as somebody else posted already it is very cyclical and Mizzou is in the up cycle while UT and UF are in their down cycle. Florida is back to Florida pre Pell and I can not remember a point in my life where the Vols have been this down (and I am old). UGA seems locked in the "almost there" stage since the 80s', but for whatever reason can not clear that last hurdle or two. Over time this should balance out and the we will get a feel where Mizzou really fits.

Unlike TAMU, they have been able to avoid the AL and LA games at a time when those 3 schools are at peak. This is a valid point made by non Mizzou posters and avoided by some hard line Mizzou folks. Just like Mizzou - through no fault of their own - missed Florida in the Pell to Meyer era (Gators peak) and The Vols under the command of the Major or the Fat Man. Where the thin skin comes from is winning the East and not getting the respect, which probably had more to do with losing to Indiana than anything else.

The bigger point is the Hogs came from the old SWC and it affects the chip on some Hogs shoulders today. TAMU and MU are similarly shell shocked from their Big 12 days so I get them having the hair on their back up when they feel challenged or slighted, even if no intention slight exists. Hopefully where they fit in the SEC will sort itself out in first 5 - 10 years of their transition and both sides will chill out a bit.

Football starts tomorrow so can we all kick back and enjoy the new season and let this thread die? No matter who wins the East this fall, they still must win the SEC CCG to bring real respect back to the East from the West.

Peace Out my SEC brothers from other mothers.

LOL. Wait a second here... The Big 8 has no history of national champions? Oklahoma, Nebraska, Colorado? The Big 12 wasn't a fixture in the national title games in the late 90's and early 00's? I love how the SEC is this jaggernaut, feel free to ignore eras where they were not.

Brings me to point two. Then the SEC fans get bent out of shape when it is pointed out that Mizzou has been beating everyone except Alabama even before they joined the conference. "Oh those don't count"

So basically throw shite at wall and all that sticks is that which supports "SEC hard" except when Mizzou and A&M win then "SEC down".

SEC has been a beast since it moved out of the providence of the east coast IVY schools. Bama and the SEC were playing in the Rose Bowl and winning early on before the PAC closed the doors from getting whipped. Mizzou as underdog in the Big 8 or Big 12 is no different than the SEC having to play 2nd fiddle to the PAC and B1G historically. Mizzou should appreciate the historic issues involved and love the position they are in. Instead of fighting amongst your brothers, go fight with those who oppose you outside your family.

Get about a dozen or so of the top posters on here and put up threads on B1G and B12 boards and adopt your bee defense there. Sting all those KU and Ohio State fans with this same ferocity and make us all proud.

Have you not been on this board and in this conference long enough to get the big picture, to be the big dog you have to beat the other big dog that year. Neither MU or TAMU have dominated the big dogs of this point and time yet. I have been cutting TAMU and MU slack for the weak OOC's as you are still in transition, but at some point that has to go.

In the pre SEC days you have to think like for like, so if you beat UK when the Bear was at his peak there, that is not the same as beating UK when Joker was there and Mizzou was still in the B12. That is all most on here are telling you but you are not wanting to listen at this time, for whatever reason.

I'll never get another good nights sleep until the Ranters respect Mizzou.

Hopefully we don't suck and win the East again.

SEC fans in 2012: We told y'all you can't compete with the Big Boys.

SEC fans in 2013: We really aren't as big and bad as we thought but we'll say that the East is down because these Big 12 boys dun come up in here and rocked our world.

SEC fans in 2014: The West is the real SEC even though only the last placed team can win a dang ol' Bowl Game. Big 10 dun whipped our arse!!!!

The whole "success" of Florida football has been a run by Spurrier and a run by Urban Meyer.

The rest of their time (by rant logic) they ain't been jack shite.

Now you get it, although you probably need to start with Pell and end with Meyer.

No doubt, but Pell got the Gators from crappy to good enough for a coach like Spurrier to take them home. I really believe if Charlie Pell did not get them to another level, Gators never get to the next level. While I think Spurrier has done wonders for South Carolina, not sure how he would have fared building from scratch - Envision Spurrier starting with VU or UK normal talent.
