Keep us up-to-date on those fearsome Bugeaters.

The fates started their inevitable change when the Big 8 and SWC merged for Nebraska. Mizzou has slowly inclined and they are on the slow decline and has been highlighted by the moves during conference realignment.

Would make way more sense to only use the % of teams Mizzou has played since joining the SEC

I mean I do. Its a thread intended to falsely inflate the ego of Mizzou posters.

Do you not understand why I have a valid criticism?

Sure, I get the angst. You have had to watch Mizzou come in and do what South Carolina couldnt do in 20+ years.

Sort of like when you used to run through the down years of the Big 8 and Oklahoma and beat overranked Colorado and Kansas and make national title games? Wow you beat Mizzou and Iowa State. Try beating an up OU or a quality Texas team. LOL.

Now they are Iowa State.

MO is desperate for respect lmao

Win something of substance and you will be respected. Winning the east, when the east has sucked means nothing.

I'll never get another good nights sleep until the Ranters respect Mizzou.

Hopefully we don't suck and win the East again.

SEC fans in 2012: We told y'all you can't compete with the Big Boys.

SEC fans in 2013: We really aren't as big and bad as we thought but we'll say that the East is down because these Big 12 boys dun come up in here and rocked our world.

SEC fans in 2014: The West is the real SEC even though only the last placed team can win a dang ol' Bowl Game. Big 10 dun whipped our arse!!!!

Yes let's look at common opponents of LSU and Mizzou...

quote:

2012: We both lost to Florida and Bama. You beat South Carolina who we couldn't.

We also beat Texas AM, who you couldn't... with respect to noncommon opponents, we beat Auburn, State, Ole Miss, and Arkansas (4-0), while you lost to Georgia and Vandy, squeaked by Tennessee, and beat Kentucky (2-2).

2012 - LSU (2-2) Mizzou (0-4)
Florida 6-14 . . . . . . . . . Florida 7-14
Carolina 23-21 . . . . . . . Carolina 10-31
Texas AM 24-19 . . . . . . Texas AM 29-59
Alabama 17-21 . . . . . . . Alabama 10-42

Auburn 12-10 . . . . . . . . Georgia 20-41
Miss St 37-17. . . . . . . . . Vandy 15-19
Ole Miss 41-35. . . . . . . . Kentucky 33-10
Arkansas 20-13 . . . . . . . Tennessee 51-48 (4OT)

quote:

2013: We both beat A&M and Florida. We beat Georgia and Ole Miss who you couldn't. You beat auburn who we couldnt

It was admittedly a similar year, with our two losses coming by a combined 6 points, and you getting demolished by 17 in the SECCG. LSU went (2-1), and Mizzou (3-1) against noncommon opponents.

2013 - LSU (3-2) Mizzou (4-1)
Auburn 35-21 . . . . . . . . . Auburn 42-59
Georgia 41-44 . . . . . . . . .Georgia 41-26
Florida 17-6 . . . . . . . . . . .Florida 26-17
Ole Miss 24-27 . . . . . . . . Ole Miss 24-10
Texas AM 34-10 . . . . . . . Texas AM 28-21

Alabama 17-38 . . . . . . . .Carolina 24-27 (2OT)
Miss St 59-26 . . . . . . . . .Vandy 51-28
Arkansas 31-27. . . . . . . .Tennessee 31-3
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Kentucky 48-17

quote:

2014: We both beat Florida, Kentucky, A&M. We both lost to Bama and Georgia. We beat Arkansas who you couldn't. You didnt beat anyone we couldn't.

We didn't play Georgia.. only Florida, and Kentucky from the East. With respect to noncommon opponents, we faced Auburn, State, and Ole Miss (1-2), while you played Carolina, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, and Georgia (3-1).

2014 LSU (3-2) Mizzou (4-1)
Kentucky 41-3 . . . . . . . . Kentucky 20-10
Florida 30-27 . . . . . . . . . Florida 42-13
Alabama 13-20 (OT) . . . . Alabama 13-42
Arkansas 0-17. . . . . . . . . Arkansas 21-14
Texas AM 23-17 . . . . . . . Texas AM 34-27

Ole Miss 10-7 . . . . . . . . . Tennessee 29-21
Miss St 29-34 . . . . . . . . . Carolina 21-10
Auburn 7-41 . . . . . . . . . . Georgia 0-34
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Vandy 24-14

So in the last 3 years, LSU and Mizzou are an identical 8-6 against common opponents.. the difference lies in noncommon opponents, namely the fact that LSU has played the bottom four of the conference: Arkansas, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Tennessee, four times in the last three years (3-1), while Mizzou has played the same teams 10 times (9-1)...

SEC Record of Noncommon opponents
2012 LSU (9-23) Mizzou (13-19)
2013 LSU (10-14) Mizzou (12-12)
2014 LSU (15-9) Mizzou (12-20)
----------------------------
Total LSU (34-46) Mizzou (37-51)

That's a lot of typing to say we sucked in 12, y'all were close to sucking in 14 and it would have been a good game in 13.

It's a lot of typing to say that until Florida, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky start fielding competitive programs, you won't be taken seriously as a contender among the SEC's bluebloods when you get hammered in the SECCG.

You'll have to explain it to me. In the three years I spent in Mizzou, I encountered almost none, but plenty of Cardinals and Royals fans.

In what part of "Mizzou" did you spend those three years? No one calls the state Mizzou. Just the university.
