Anyone want to talk football instead of trolling/flaming?

A few interesting tidbits from Alabama's practice:
-QB Cooper Bateman, who looked like the best QB at A-Day last year, is now working with the WRs. Does that mean that Kiffin feels good about our QB depth, or is our WR depth questionable until Charlot/Ridley get in?
-Anthony Averett has a faster 40 time than track stars Marlon Humphrey and Tony Brown.
-Looks like JUCO Dominick Jackson is locking down the right tackle spot.
-Looks like Shaun Hamilton is taking over Trey Depriest's spot at middle linebacker.

Arkansas fans: How's the D-line looking?

Auburn fans: Who has been running as the first team running back? Roc or Jovon? Any word on position battles for the defense?

Florida fans: Is it true that Coach Mc seems to be favoring a walk-on at this moment?

LSU fans: Anything new on the qb situation?

Jamal Adams had 2 pick 6's in the latest scrimmage. Good news is they threw a couple of TDs to a tiger.

Arkansas looks to have a real good football team. Arkansas has big strong players who run fast. I think Arkasnas will win football games.

UGA is faster and stronger than ever before. We have playmakers at all positions, meaning anyone anywhere can make a play at any given moment in a football game. We will likely run and pass the ball on offense and tackle on defense. With a little bit of luck, we may intercept a pass or recover a fumble. I don't think it's going out on too much of a limb to say this team could win some football games and, if they win enough, go to the CFB Playoff held in January of each year.

Roc and Barber have been mostly 1st team due to knowing the offense. That battle won't really be going until summer hits.

I guess this is what I get for asking for legitimate football discussion. Carry on, rant.

Sounds like the RB's have been getting pretty much equal reps. Any concrete info is hard to come by under Malzahn, for better or worse.

Defense, from what I've read, looks to probably look like this -

1st team guys only, because I really have no idea what the 2 deep will look like -

DE/Buck - Carl Lawson
DT - Montravious Adams
DT - Dontavious Russel
DE - Probably one of Elijah Daniel or Devonte Lambert.

Not totally sure what things will look like when they go to a 3-4.

LB's will probably be the same as last year with Frost and McKinzey, with Tre Williams being the other OLB. Moncrief moved up to OLB and has done well, so he'll get some PT, but not sure if he'll start.

Holsey sounds like he's impressing Muschamp at corner. Jonathan Jones will probably start at the other corner. Tray Mathews certainly will start at S and probably Rudy Ford at the other S spot.

This is probably the most "star studded" defensive starting lineup we've had in a long time. I hope it translates on the field.

Tennessee will play at least 12 games of football this year. Each game consisting of 4 fifteen minute quarters. Total of 60 mins of play. Whoever has more points at the end of the 4th quarter wins game.

Nope. All reports have said neither QB has separated himself from the other.

no, and I don't even know why this shite is starting to spread.. oh I do know why, a corndog who only gets to watch 15 minutes of practice started it, trying to sell subscriptions.

Who is Mc favoring at this time? Grier?

Is it true that Tabor is in the doghouse? If so, who looks like his likely replacement until he leaves the doghouse?

I don't know how true that is, it's just a rumor. The guy your talking about apparently fits well with a more pro-style, drop back and pass type offense. Personally, I'd like to see how Grier does because he has the arm to drop back and throw, but also has the ability with his legs to take off.

OL is a problem, no depth and injuries. This is why there is no spring game this year and it'll be more of a scrimmage/glorified practice. It's hard to stay optimistic with the state of the line.

Receivers and backs are a smaller question mark, WR/RB Brandon Powell is out for the spring last I heard. Expected him to come in as a back on passing downs or even line up wide.

Well what in the world do you do at the end of the 4th quarter if the amount of points one team has is exactly equal to the amount of points the other team has?

Not sure any major news has come out yet.
If I had to guess I think we'll be average at best.
Its gonna be nearly impossible to replicate the pressure Philon and Flowers produced last year.

I had no idea Bateman could run?

Is Alabama's QB depth:
1) Cokesiah
2) Cornwell
3) ??? (this seemed like the spot for Bateman but maybe he is already feeling the pressure from Barnett or something; who knows?)

For VOLS

- QB Josh Dobbs is the unquestioned leader on offense. He's bigger and stronger than last year and has complete command of the offense. His inconsistency in practice is what has plagued him the past two years but that looks to no longer be the case.

- JUCO RB Alvin Kamara is probably our fastest player on offense. Really quick and hard to tackle in space. Butch said yesterday that AK is up to 210 lbs now. He should be the perfect compliment Jalen Hurd in the backfield.

- OL is looking much, much better than at any point in 2014. OC DeBord has been helping out a ton there too.

- Almost all of the returning DL is either injured or recovering from surgery right now. Freshman DT Shy Tuttle has been getting a ton of reps in their absence and has looked fantastic so far. He's probably been the most impressive of the EE freshmen.

- Jr. OLB Jalen Reeves Maybin has taken AJ Johnson's place as the guy making all the calls for the defense. Dillon Bates, Cortez McDowell and Gavin Bryant are all fighting for the MLB spot.
