I don't understand why our fan base is so delusional. Jimbo has a great gig @ FSU. Only Clemson stands in his was from winning the ACC year in and year out. Is Les the long term answer here...NO probably not, but LSU can not justify firing Les unless they hire a proven coach. I apologize to the rest of the board for our fans delusion. To LSU fans try to be rational... stop and think do you really believe Jimbo is coming to LSU?

Can LSU afford the Miles buy out plus a salary exceeding Saban's?

there is a lot of smoke in FSU right now with the recent court case and all the kids and rape. And his recent divorce. He may just be ready for a change of scenery and start over. But I do agree that in a normal case he and Dabo would be stupid to leave their current gig

yes. of all the obstacles involved in hiring a new coach, this is not going to be something that stands in LSU's way

I'm not sure you know how this works IRL.

Explanations have been given on other boards. Whether you choose to believe them or not is obviously your prerogative, but to ignore them and then run to this board to find people who will upvote your point of view seems pretty weak to me.

Nobody on here knows jack shite one way or the other, and if they do, they aren't going to say.

Jimbo has a great gig, but you don't know shite (just like me) when it comes to what might happen.

I do know how things work IRL. I live in the real world and paying 15 million dollars to be uncertain is a bad idea.

It would be stupid to waste that kind of money when you have a Championship coach who is one of the most elite recruiters (as far as HCs are concerned) in the country.

that same coach is getting lapped by the field in gameplanning/philosophy/execution

he's not a championship coach anymore. recruiting hasn't dropped off and that's great, but he's no longer a coach that's going to win championships in the future. and that's fine. i appreciate what he's done, but sometimes it's time to move on. it was going to happen in the next few years regardless, more than likely, so i really fail to see the problem in nipping it in the bud while the program is still in good shape.

Given the fact that there are two other forums to discuss this, yet the OP comes to the SEC Rant for hand holding, I can't imagine why there would be disagreement

this goes back in my memory to Bama and the Bear. He really tailed off in his last few years. Bama would have never fired bear but age and health caught up to him when he retired.
