If we lose we will finish tied for 8th..which is last

There are no ties. Tennessee is last. They were a lower seed and they're first eliminated. They're eighth. Those are the rules.

I think in the books it works the other way, as you end up tied for the odd number (7th, 5th, and 3rd)

You must not watch much WCWS then. A poll may put them 8th but the NCAA will put them tied for 7th.

Honestly does it really matter if you're out this early? It doesn't much matter to me. Out is out, especially before the finals. I'm just glad our team made it in the first place as it was completely unexpected this year, although I'd have loved for them to have went even further.
At any rate...

I'm just fricking around. I'm not expecting Alabama to advance past today. Honestly, anything other than championship series doesn't matter when it comes to this tournament. It's nice to make it and Auburn can celebrate winning their first game in OKC, but rankings are meaningless if you lose.

I don't. The way our offense looks, I couldn't take 22 innings of this.
