TAMU: When it's all said and done I think our offense will be tops in the league. It will be a really close race between TAMU, Arkie, Bama, and Auburn, in that order. Still, I think we have a crazy amount of talent at every skill position and will show great improvement in our weakest areas. (TE play, Running game, and OLine). Expect a more balanced offense that will aim for efficiency in the passing game and lot bigger power run emphasis. I think they will stay on the field a lot longer than people expect as a result of this but will still put up points with big plays here and there. This will help the defense, and the new defensive coordinator. This area is the biggest concern for the Ags. A lot will depend on Chavis getting the players to catch on early and commit to improving both individually and as a team. I expect noticeable improvement and coupled with the offense, the Ags could be dangerous. Still, the defense has been ATROCIOUS, and like most people on the tRant I will have to see it to believe it. 4th best shot.
LSU: QB Play and how the defense plays for Steele. Curious about this one because I think QB is still a big question mark for them and a lot is being assumed about Harris' improvement. LF has some big expectations and a lot will depend on his success running the ball, opening up the playbook for Harris. Defensively I expect you guys to succeed, especially with all the talent on the roster. There are some coaching changes as mentioned but I have always liked O so frick it. That being said I give them the 3rd best shot as of right now.
Arkie: Waiting to see what Allen brings to the table and if they play well should the team find early season success and rise in rankings. Been a long time since the hogs ate. Defensively I think you guys had a great offseason and will have a really solid TEAM next year. I give them the best shot.
Miss State: I'm glad Dak is coming back for you guys because I think our defense will be improved in the areas he is most dangerous should our DC hire work out. Also you are losing a lot, but that happens to everyone sooner or later. We will really see if Mullen can coach when these new guys fill some big shoes. I give them the 6th best shot.
Ole Miss: QB situation is make or break for your season, as is common for many teams in the SEC West. I think that you guys will prove to have one of the worst in the conference and your record will likely reflect it. Defense could win you some games but the division is just too tough. 7th best chance.
Auburn: Same story, same QB drama. With a mastermind HC and likely a whole new look on offense, I think the Tigers benefit tremendously from little film and exposure of this new scheme. HOWEVER, the huge weakness on the defensive side of the ball leaves many uncertainties. Ultimately, I think the schedule is too tough and the defense won't hold. Expect a lot of great high scoring games though. (Boom hire is a huge player here, but see Ags above. ) 5th best shot.
Bama: You guys get the point. QB situation. I think the offense avoids taking a step back if Kiffin stays. That guy is a QB guru and is amazing and getting the ball in playmakers' hands. The defense should be solid as always. The schedule looks pretty tough however and I think you guys might drop two or more of that brutal 4 game stretch. Especially if a team finds themselves out of contention with 'not much to play for' for the first time in a while. Still, thats a big if and maybe a reach. 2nd best shot.
TLDR based off my ODDS to win:
1st ARKIE
2nd BAMA
3rd LSU
4th TAMU
5th AUBURN
6th MISS STATE
7th OLE MISS
Feel free to read the entire thing, or skip to the bottom and flame the shite out of me anyways.
If you do choose to read the entire thing let me know your disagreements and convince me otherwise. I think there are a lot of tossup games this year and I am interested to see how people with more knowledge of their team view the season.

Just an early off the cuff ranking....Id say
1. Alabama
2. Arkansas
3. LSU
4. Auburn
5. Texas A&M
6. Mississippi State
7. Ole Miss
Ill always like Alabama in the West as long as Saban is around. I really like Arkansas next season. Allen coming off a 20 TD and only 5 int season. LSU/Auburn/aTm all could be interchanged. Im not a fan of the LSU offense. Defense can only do so much. Auburn, I think it will take Muschamp a little over a year to get the defense in place. Same for aTm. The Mississippi schools could surprise again, but State lost some key cogs and Ole Miss just seems to always get in their own way.
All 7 teams are bowl teams though, IMO.

Feel the same... Might go as far as to say 1-5. Will get interesting once reports from spring practice and games get out.
Like your list and reasoning.
Sorry Landmass!

I think the SEC West is wide open for 2015.
Anyone can win it.
The only team that might not be as good in '15 is Ole Miss, and even they will be a contender if they find a QB.
The West will not only have great players, but the level of coaching will be staggering as well.

Actually, AU has a very favorable schedule this year. Both UGA and Bama at home. We open the season in Atlanta which might as well be a home game for us. Both Ms schools at home too. Our other game from the east is Ky. They'll be improved, but would rather play them than Mizzou or TN. Away games at LSU and Arkansas worry me (in that order) a little, but hopefully we find a way to win.
Also, we get Carl Lawson back and with the benefit of Muschamp and T-Rob, I think we'll see a big change on the D. Might not be a Top 10 D, but good enough for our offense to do what we need to win.

basically, your prediction is as good as anyone else's at this juncture. except, arky winning the west? holy shite, your level headed picks and anaylsis just went bonkers.

That was 2014 homey.

Hence the proposed discussion!

They currently lead my ODDS to win the West. Until I see someone knockoff an Alabama school (barners included) it will stay as such.

I think the bye week before Bama will be huge after playing TAMU and Georgia in consecutive weeks. I know it's not a conventional BYE but getting the kinks out vs Idaho is pretty much the same thing.
I think the defensive situation is similar to LSU's and the Ag's, and playing Georgia could be rough home or away.
Momentum and confidence levels will play a huge part in determining how the season unravels for you guys.

You gonna completely ignore the QB drama question? And to whoever said we get Lawson, let's not forget Trigga Tray will be playing this season
