No one was doubting Alabama's front 7. We just thought our OL was that good. It appeared to be the best in the nation. You can't doubt us for believing that after what they did the first 7 games.

Yes, we could "doubt" you for believing that, and many of us did. There's a thread somewhere on here with some photos of fool's gold I posted in reference to your schedule up to that point.

Its funny that in OSU's loss the fans bashed the coach for not running Zeke enough. MSU had stuffed him. Zeke had like 11 rushes for 30 yards. Comparing that to LSU's loss to us where LF went 19 for 38 yards and complained he got it too much. Then you blame it on not having a QB but before the game all we heard was how good he was. Bottom line is both teams got beat by a superior defense. Nothing more, nothing less.

It was pretty hard to break a tackle when he couldn't even get to the second level of the defense.

13 of LF's 19 tackles he encountered at least 2 defenders at or behind the line. He typically was not getting tackled by 1 guy. Bama did a great job of getting numbers to the ball and tackling.

I think LF has all the tools in the world to be an unbelievable back especially in the NFL but he is missing one that is extremely important. His vision is lacking, probably average. Backs with unbelievable vision make terrible olines look good because they can find the smallest of holes and make something out of it.

So you're saying Fournette isn't an overrated trash running back? That's uh....

Watching LF7 run these last few weeks reminds me of growing up watching Barry Sanders run with the Lions. The man was amazing and when they got him into space he could do anything but for the majority of his runs it seemed like he was hitting a brick wall.

LSU has shite the bed with LF7 by not using him better. I have no problem with his touches, I have a problem with how he is getting touches. It kills me that we have an NFL OC who does not know how to better use our skill players. Granted this is hurt by the fact that Harris still doesn't know how to throw the ball 3 yards.

Running a 1960s offense straight at the Tide defense was a death sentence. And, LSU's OL was over-rated. I would not say he's a better pro prospect than Henry, though. He may wind up that way, but right now, I see them as equals. That's just my opinion, though.

I believe I guessed before the game that LF would get around 140 against Bama. I assumed he would have marginal success, then break a long one late like Chubb did. I obviously underestimated our front 7. Won't happen again. Regardless, LF is still a great back.

Lost in the analysis:

LF broke two tackles against Alabama (by contrast, he broke 10 against Arky). He had 27 broken tackles over the stretch of Auburn/Syracuse/EMU.

The fact is, even when LF encountered a player in Crimson, he was unable to win those battles either.

try not to be so dense

big difference between having an opportunity to break a tackle against a player in the secondary, in the open field and multiple d-linemen/linebackers at the line of scrimmage

Well, it is also difficult to break tackles when 4 people are hitting you at once. I'm sure if he was given the chance to go up against a solo tackler he would've broken a lot more.

There were a few times when he did. Early in the game LF7 bounced one outside and had one guy to beat for a good run. Eddie Jackson hit him in the backfield and brought him down by himself. I think it was a great play by Jackson but LF7 did have a couple of chances one on one.

Agreed. I thought his best run of the year was a four yard lost where he reversed field with a double spin move. Shame it wasn't past the line.

He could not get to the 2nd level because he has the vision of an average back. Truly elite back see a crease before and during the mesh with the QB. They adjust. LF runs the track of the play call and goes full throttle downhill to the LOS. There were lanes to run to against Bama. He just couldn't see them. Not his fault he has average vision. You either have it or you don't.

Fournette is tough, but he had no blocking. As bad as I hate it for Les Miles, I knew CLM was in trouble at the first of that game. When he was being interviewed he told the reporter that he told his players to treat this like every other game, and that is a mistake in coaching. I think he underestimated his opponent while over estimating his OL. They had their way with Florida, but Saban had his boys ready to play that night, and they were not going to shite the bed like they did when OM can to town. Fournette is good, but that night he ran up against a very formiable and prepared defense.

Lol. Lil Hump met him when LF was at full speed through the hole and knocked his arse backwards and dropped him for a loss. It was beautiful.

He is a good back, the once in a generation crap was too much. He does lack great vision. His best runs come when he has a lead block and doesn't have to find or pick a hole. Once LSU fullback went down he was pretty average. Very few teams at the next level carry full backs on the active roster.

Trent Richardson could have benefited from a lead block, his vision was awful. Leonard vision isn't that bad, but the runs behind a lead blocker definitely help him.

LF7 is the best running back and player in the country. His OLINE and QB was zero help in the Bama game. The fact he has 31 yards when 11 guys were completely focused on him is astounding.

Bama didn't even put an extra guy in the box.
