Was the hype around Arky's basketball team legit?

During the preseason I saw a lot of Arkansas in the top 4-5 in the conference and one of the few locks to make the tourney. I know it's still early, but losses to Cal, Gonzaga, and Texas A&M aren't exactly impressive. Why was there so much hype surrounding this Arkansas squad? Was there a coaching change or a good recruiting class? I honestly don't follow Arkansas basketball all that closely so I would have no clue as to the answer of either of those questions.

Just about everyone besides Hogville had them in the NIT in the preseason.
LSU's preseason hype, on the other hand, was legit. Too bad.

You can literally swap out the sixth word of the title with any sport for Arkansas.
