It was a combination of things. Timing, suspense, dramatics, emotion. It was the thing that legend and lore are built upon and a friend and I were talking this morning and laughing about what this thing will morph into around here over the next few generations.
Honestly though, it is hard to overplay how vicious the hit was, how important the play was and how fast it seemed to happen in real time.
It was like Clowney had literally been shot out of a cannon it happened so fast. They timed it here on a local channel and showed it in slow motion and Clowney went from the snap of the ball to contact of the runner in under a second. 0.91
