Two of the most storied programs in college football history have agreed to another home and home series:
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee football program announced Monday the dates for a future home-and-home series with Oklahoma. The two programs are set to meet in 2020 and 2024.
Tennessee heads to Norman in 2020 for its fifth-ever meeting against the Sooners. The Vols will appear at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium on Sept. 12 that season -- a game landing directly between previously scheduled home contests against Charlotte (Sept. 5) and Furman (Sept. 19).
OU makes the return trip to Knoxville on Sept. 7, 2024.
Tennessee and Oklahoma completed the first-ever home-and-home series two seasons ago. The Vols traveled to Norman in 2014 before playing host to OU at Neyland Stadium in 2015. UT's all-time record against the Sooners is 1-3 in a series that dates to 1938.
Tennessee and Oklahoma are two of the winningest programs in college football history. OU currently ranks seventh in all-time wins, owning an all-time record of 872-321-53 (.721). UT ranks ninth in total wins, boasting an all-time record of 829-379-53 (.680).

Didn't you guys already have a home and home with them in the last decade?

And? Great programs want to play other great programs.

You guys lost to them though. I would think you would try a different opponent you can actually beat. OU just got two rent-a-wins with this agreement.

H/H split four years apart is stupid. OU will buy out of the return game. Bookmark it!

Is that why UF doesn't have anything scheduled with Georgia Southern in upcoming years?

I don't think his post was being negative, it's just a bit odd that a unique matchup like this would be scheduled again so quickly. Usually when you see awesome home/homes like this that's the end of it and then they'll schedule some other big time school.
I love the matchup, just curious that they're doing it again so soon.

VOLS scheduling tough as they always have done.
Thank you for sharing, op.

Iirc, VOLS had Ohio State scheduled for 2020 and Nebraska scheduled for 2024 and both backed out. Maybe OU was the only big name national program that would agree to a home and home quickly idk

OP, don't hold your breath. When it comes to OU, take nothing for granted. LSU was to have played them, home & home, yrs ago. Note that the first game has yet to be played, let alone the second one. Helps to sell season tickets ..."look at our great schedule in the coming yrs". And then nuttin happens.

That's great news. I made the trip to Norman when Fran took us there over a decade ago. I had a great time. Wish we would work something out with them.
