I am taking my 14 year old daughter to the LSU/Bama game on November 9th. We plan to play golf.
Any suggestions on where we should play?
We arrive at 12:00 PM in Atlanta and are leaving from Atlanta late on the following Monday.
Thanks

Play Ross Bridge in Hoover. Outstanding course in the RTJ trail.

Was anyone else about to ask for a pic until they saw that she was 14?

If you're spending any of that time, other than arrival and departure, in Atlanta check out Echelon Golf Club in Alpharetta.
Bear's Best in Suwanee. It's a replica of Jack Nicklaus' favorite 18 holes from around the world. It's a short course and a bit pricey for a lot of people though.

Farmlinks. They usually have an all day deal that includes lunch for around $100. Really unique course and layout. Other than that, I agree with Ross Bridge.

Ross Bridge has a hotel (Renaissance) so that might be incentive enough to go there. It's only about a 40 minutes drive to Tuscaloosa from there, so you could just stay there the whole time

Shoal Creek would be the obvious choice but it's as private as private gets.

Ah, didn't know that (I don't golf; I just know it has a great reputation). Ross Bridge then

Thanks for the warm welcome Spankum.
I'm also headed to Athen for the USCe@UGA game with the fellas on September 7th. Very excited for the football season to start.

I've had the privilege of playing there last year and the year before. It's my favorite golf course, ever. And that includes some pretty special tracks.
If I get the invite to return, I will be.

Farmlinks.
I really like the look of that place. I called them, and they are areating their greens that week, so the conditioning will be off. I might go anyway.
I don't get to Alabama everyday.

If you can't get on Shoal Creek I'd drive the extra 30 minutes down Highway 280 to Farmlinks in Sylacauga. It doubles as a test facility for different turf and fertilizer companies. It along with Ross Bridge and Limestone Springs are probably the best public courses in the Bham area.
If you have the connections to get on a private course like Shoal Creek you can probably get on one of the other really good private courses like Birmingham Country Club (West Course), Old Overton, or Greystone CC which are all very good courses.

I'll be looking at these. I've checked out Ross Bridge on line before.

I don't have any connections to these, and they may be hard to develop from here in Canada. Never know though.
