Alabama fans on tRant, gloriously sucking their thumbs this morning over getting their arse beat by OM two years in a row, have now put forward a new position: That plays should be video reviewed for penalties (such as an O-lineman downfield). I assume they also mean things such as holding, facemasks, offsides, etc. Let's review every play!

What says tRant? Good Idea, or whiny Gump crybabies acting like bitches? Up Vote or Down Vote your pleasure.

Bama lost because Ole Miss beat them.

But, I hate that play. It absolutely does need to change in some way. Most likely, linemen will be limited to being ONE yard downfield on passing plays. That will make it much easier for refs to spot.

Why not get it right? The review targeting. They review of the QB was past the line of scrimmage. I'm not sure about every play, but maybe give the coaches one penalty challenge per half or something. Way too many blown calls that effect a game.

Pot calling the kettle black for sure. No other fan base knows all the refs by name except for ole piss fans. OP fans cry about calls in a game even when they fuking win.

I was thinking about this during the LSU/Auburn game. I don't want reviews after every play. Holding is too subjective and happens every play so that's a no-go.

But if they can review to see if a qb crossed the LOS why can't they overturn for ineligible receiver downfield?

Saw a play where the qb was tackled inches from the first down marker. They reviewed the spot but couldn't do anything about the blatant facemask tackle on the play. If they're already wasting time reviewing it at least get the shite right.

Exactly, but I don't even want it reviewed. I just want them to enforce the rule.

I don't see this working.

Can you imagine if there is a stoppage of the game so that a booth review ref can find a penalty?

Like if a team gets a TD on a play and they are about to kick the EP but the booth ref calls down to say that a penalty was missed so the TD doesn't count. That system would be ripe for abuse by some teams that have the officials office in their back yard.

I haven't seen such a whiny fan base from a winning team Since miZZOU fans after they beat our cripples in 2013.

I'd also like to see the offsetting penalties thing changed.

"Oh the other team held down one of your players and took turns shitting in his face? Well you had too many players in the backfield sooooo offsetting penalties, replay the down."

Agreed, but you quoted this in your reply:

So... Instead of having booth review penalties, which I agree would give Bama an unfair advantage, allow the coaches one penalty challenge per game, two if the first is successful.

Jesus gets it...

nice reaction thread, but I think an extra official would be a good idea to try and get that call correct as it was missed in multiple games on Saturday resulting in TD's. If you were to implement a review, I think fouls relating to position on the field would be ok, but judgement calls in the moment would be difficult at best to review and overturn.

- i don't actually want more review because games are long enough already, but if you don't have enough officials to enforce the rules i light of the new uptempo offenses and all the motion and tricky plays, then get another to enforce the rules in place
