If they only had a serviceable QB/offense that could manage a ball game....

UGA - 2
Ole Miss - 3
USCe - 1
Mizzou - 0

Mizzou win ensured Mason a 3rd year btw regardless of what happens rest of the way. Thought it was likely anyway but 2-10 there would have been some lingering doubt.

As he should. I think he's a good coach, Franklin just wrecked shop when he left.

Can Vandy cover the 14 points against Houston and their mobile QB this week?

Asking for a friend...

The Ole Miss and UGA games are the most impressive, but it's still a solid resume.

I think Mason has you guys on the right track. You can't expect immediate results at a school like Vandy, especially when your previous coach was a gigantic dickbag and left your program in ruins.

Seriously...frick James Franklin.

Even though it's at Houston I think the final margin is 10 or less. Houston really has not played anybody (125th in SOS) minus that early season win over a weaker than expected Louisville team (a game in which they got 4 Louisville turnovers & ran 92 plays of offense & won by 3).

Their other wins are against teams with horrendous defenses (total D ranking).
Tulane #78
UCF #88
SMU #121
Tulsa #123
Texas State #124
Tennessee Tech

I don't think VU scores enough to win but I think the final margin is likely 7-10 points for UH.

Houston would be a nice win for Vandy! Good luck.

Will aTm and Vandy combine for 30 points when they play?

Mason has done a heck of a job pulling that team back together after a very rough start. A good defense will give you a chance in any game. But, you will need to get an offense somehow to be a real threat in the SEC.

Probably not. I feel bad for anyone who missed on hammering that 35 total for Vandy/Mizzou with their life savings

Vandy is also 1st in the SEC in scoring defense (tied for 13th nationally) with Toledo at 16.3 ppg. (.1 ahead of Bama) offensive struggles with turnovers have hindered this team so much, great equalizer in football.

It has to be encouraging for you guys that defense is Mason's side of the ball, right? Seems like he's really had an impact there.

I had huge doubts about Mason after going 3-9 last year and then going 1-3 in Sept this year. but it like he's made huge strides on defense since that OleMiss game.

I hope y'all beat the shite out of Houston.

Anybody should have had huge doubts about him after last year. That was without a doubt the most unprepared football team I have ever closely followed from week to week. Jury is still out but the difference from last year to this has been pretty surprising.

Get a couple more wins here to close out the season and suddenly 5-7 looks pretty good all things considered. Only 3 of the top 22 on a defense that good leaving and suspected growth of young skill position players on offense in a 2nd year in a system & expectations have changed quite a bit.

After everyone is done giving Vandy a pat on the back for showing up, can we just purge that school from the SEC along with Ole Miss and get this conference back to 12 teams so we don't have such long gaps between playing each other?

Great, Vandy had two good years in baseball, no good years in football, a few in basketball, and hardly any in the other sports. Let them go to the MAC and feel good about life.

That's only 5 pick sixes from Kyle, I'm sure he can do that.

Ole Miss was without Tunsil, and the other three teams have horrible offenses (GAg after Chubb)
