is it just me or is it the worst of any really good program in the SEC? Football stands jutting up against back of seats, fake grass, fake dirt and netting everywhere like its a bird sanctuary in the off season. Its a freaking abomination to the game!

I like it. Looks better than an open field or woods behind the fence.

It's actually new, high quality turf.

High quality turf dirt is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of.

It's definitely not "nice" by any stretch of the imagination, but for an urban campus I kind of like how quirky it is. Having the gym, football stadium and parking deck all crammed together right next to each other is kind of neat in an odd way.

I'm not crazy about the turf, but I've seen worse especially when you consider some SEC programs have venues better then some Triple AAA places.

The question is how would you improve it given where it's built?

Agreed its just cool in its own strange way, I like it. Plus their baseball facility doesn't have tall backstops, I can't stand those tall backstops on some of these schools.

Old school where all 3 major sports were back to back. If you have ever been to Memorial @ UK the old stadium and ballpark were right across the street.

I like it being right up on the football stadium.

It reminds me of old school college athletic fields.

I agree that turf over grass and dirt sucks. I feel that way about all turf though.

Wouldn't mind it at all if they had dirt and grass like real baseball. The netting everywhere is weird to, are there any other SEC ballparks with netting all the way down lines?

I hate turf for baseball. Although it gives vandy an advantage because the game is completely different on turf

Watching Kemp slide into first and go 10 feet past base is just comical. Its like kids in the romper room sliding across a mat while playing whiffle ball indoors.

for more northern schools, I think it's a good move. It allows them to practice in January outside when normally they wouldnt be able to because of wet conditions.

That new turf may save baseball in the north
