Hmmm....actually I agree...except he wins by 30+ but instead of high fives....he does what he usually does...sulks and paces up and down the sideline because he doesn't win by 50

Let me explain, when "Vegas" puts a line out it's NOT what "they" think, it's what YOU (not really you but most of the public) think. It's ONLY perception.
One of the most knowledgeable at this is Danny Sheridan. He has been a professional oddsmaker for a very long time. He makes lines AND picks (and charges if you are lucky enough to get in which is almost impossible, like a big hedge fund on Wall St.) and ALWAYS goes with underdogs because that is always where the value will be. Some dogs he will give out on the air to win straight up and will tell you that they OUGHT to be favored but can't due to public perception. Wrong teams are favored all the time. How do you think "Vegas" has turned into a massive behemoth? ;)
I use air quotes with "Vegas" because most lines ORIGINATE offshore now in this Internet age we live in.
The only way to make a profit in this game is finding value and discrepancies in market prices (lines). That USUALLY means going against the grain / public. No different than being a successful investor in stocks, bonds or commodities.
Hope this helps...

If this line jumps up to +21 or more I'm going to fire at em' with guns blazing.

I wouldn't bet on this game either way. I could see it being a close, defensive struggle. Or, it could be the week that Bama gets their shite together and blows Vandy out.
Too many unknowns with returning players for Bama and young guys starting to click.

Will be a blowout. Bama by 30-40. Vandy doesn't have the jimmies and joes.

anyone on this?
Not a fricking chance. This is a horrible spot for Vandy. Vandy isn't flying under the radar here so they will have Bama's full attention. On top of that it's a terrible fricking matchup. They'll struggle to score at all and Bama's going to methodically put up points over 60 minutes. I'm thinking bama wins by 24 or so.

Bama by 24. It will be close to the spread, but I still take Bama.

No, but I like the South Carolina line. I think they are going to come around and win big.

Bama is 1-2 against the spread this year.

I looked at this and then went back and saw the stats for the game with K State. Actually KState had more yardage than Vandy. Vandy only had 60+ yards rushing and just 205 passing.
Vandy may score first but Bama will wear them down by the third. Bama will run up and down the field by late in the third.

This! Vandy will get a big dose of reality come Saturday and I believe State will as well. They got so high for the LSU game that a let down could very well fall right here in the Georgia game. Georgia is one of those teams you don't want to sleep against.

3 of the 5 injured Bama linebackers have been practicing this week. If 2 or more of them play, I am expecting Bama to shut out Vandy. Then I ask myself if I believe Bama will score more than 19 against Vandy. The answer is yes. Bama will probably score around 30. Vandy has good stats but they have only played one decent team and scored two td's against them. Middle Tenn State is 1-2, Alabama a&m is 0-3 and has been blown out in every game. Vandy being undefeated is a cute story, and they have some decent athletes. They don't have enough of them to play with Bama 4 quarters.

Taking Vandy in this one just on melt potential alone.

Correct. And it has got me 2 times this year. Just a vent post I suppose.

Classic spread for squares to bet who are trying to be too smart. Vandy beats an overrated K St at home and all the sudden they're catching less than 21 to Alabama? Lol. I'm not sure how you could possibly justify betting Vandy in this spot.

Got Bama at -18.5.
Feel like they're due for one of those 40 pt first half blowouts
