The man wants to coach again and he fits the Lou Holtz, Spurrier profile that your school has had success with over the years. What say you?

There is no reason to think he would do any better than Muschamp.

No. Miles is too old. We don't need all the "He's about to retire," stuff again on the recruiting trail.

I'd pass like Joe Montana in the Superbowl...

Absolutely not. I would prefer an offensive minded coach if Champ doesn't work out.

The hell he isn't. You didn't watch LSU the first four games of 2016. Were you watching the Arkansas-LSU games in 2014 and '15? Quit after the Alabama game in each of those seasons.

Absolutely. I was extremely ticked that Muschamp was the best we could do. Although I'm pleased we're bowl eligible, look at who we beat to get there:

Vanderbilt (on 55 yard field goal)
East Carolina
UMASS
Tennessee
Missouri
Western Carolina

Not exactly world beaters.

We lost by double digits to:
Clemson
Mississippi State
Georgia
Florida
Texas A&M.

One is at his second coaching position, the other is a few years from retirement.

We don't want another "well how long will he be there" situation that we had with Spurrier.

This really isn't hard to understand.

Uhhhh...have you seen what his team has done for the last 5 years after we get smoked by Bama?

Did you see what he did in the 2012 BCSNCG, refusing to try anyone else at QB when the game was still not out of hand?

I could go on and on....

Right and at the end he tapered off into obscurity. The question wasn't who is the better coach historically. It's who will do a good job with the program in its current state. Miles is washed up. He's done.

No.

And how do Miles and Spurrier fit the same profile?

I like Les as a person a lot. If he was younger, my answer may be different.

But I don't want another old coach on their way out. And I feel most gamecocks feel that way as well
