Kliff won't leave Tech

Fuente should be at the top of their list if they can't land a home run like Dantonio

Probably already been suggested but how about Will Muscramp and the Zookster.

Since the last two USC coaches have been national title winners a little past their prime, they might as well continues the trend.

Time to call up Mack Brown.

This is who will be the next coach at South Carolina. Coached at App St and UNC. They're going to hire a big name.

Justin Fuentes. GREAT recruiter and HC.

Recruiting prowess should be a top consideration of Carolina wants to compete regularly with UGA and UF.

Phat Brad soured me on coordinators. But then, Georgia got Phat's replacement at Free Shoes.

Derek Mason, the Vandy coach, is a perfect fit. I could see it happening.

1. Justin Fuente - the record speaks for itself. Young, good recruiter, a truly great coach. Makes way too much sense for where we are as a program right now for us to go after Fuente with his track record at Memphis. He honestly makes all the sense in the world and should be Tanner's first phone call

2. Tom Herman - guy is going to be a star, you can see how Ohio State is struggling without him there (even though I fear he wouldn't stay long and would jump for the next really big job).

3. Kirby Smart - Saban coaching tree has usually worked bar Muschamp and Derek Dooley (ugh). Young, tireless recruiter, great connections in the south. The main thing here would be to surround him with a great staff mainly a great OC

4. D.J. Durkin - He's a great DC and if set him up with a good OC and I think we'd be set. Main/Massive worry is a lack of head coaching experience and only a few years as a coordinator

Solid list but I'd be apprehensive about Durkin. He's only been a DC for 3 years and 2 of those were under Muschamp. That lack of experience would scare the piss out of me. Give him a few more years to hone his craft at UM and then he'll be ready to go for a major coaching job IMO.

Yeah Durkin's the guy I wasn't really sure about, that's why he's at 4. But he's very much a high risk high reward guy if we were going to go with a coordinator. Plus with Michigan's unbelievable improvement on defense you have to believe that Durkin's a large part of that.

I'd be worried if we hired him but he just seems like he's going to be a great HC one day. (just a hunch)

Why in the actual frick would Mark Dantonio leave Michigan State for South Carolina?

well, his name comes up because he played at SC... he's not from SC though. I don't think he leaves MSU. He's had multiple heart attacks and will probably ride it through at Michigan State until he retires.
