Preseason rankings need to be abolished. Retards write them. USC was no 1 this time last year.

This. Release the first polls the first week in October. Then you don't have teams complaining that they started too far back in the polls to win a title. Have everyone unranked, then after 4 weeks put em where they fall.

14. South Carolina (2012: 11-2)

Why No. 14? Having proven it can exist without running back Marcus Lattimore, South Carolina's offense will be good enough to make a run at a BCS bowl. There's no player better than defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, but South Carolina will need a team effort to navigate one of the SEC's toughest schedules.

Actually, our schedule isn't too bad next year. October will be a good test, we go on the road 3 weeks in a row to Arkansas, UTk and Mizzou.

How is that a good test? All 3 teams were dreadful last year and 2 of them have new coaching staffs.

Not worth commenting on.

Why?

I agree with maybe one of the places they're ranked, so yeah, 1 out of 25, not worth the trouble of even commenting any more. USA Today really has gone downhill recently.

Just because it's 3 road games in a row. We haven't played too well on the road the last 2 years, so going on a stretch that long should be good to turn that around. Plus, Arky and UTk will still put butts in the seats, so it will help with getting our guys in sync when they are away from Columbia.

This just proves my point. The rant could provide a far more accurate list.

8. Notre Dame (2012: 12-1)

Why No. 8? Left tackle Zack Martin and nose tackle Louis Nix III opted to return for their senior seasons, lending Notre Dame some All-American production along with terrific leadership. The offense will be improved, but Manti Te'o leaves an enormous hole on defense and in the locker room. Also, Notre Dame must respond to Monday's blowout loss and use it as a motivator heading into next season.

Worst ranking there.

This should be plenty of material for our team TO HATE-frick EVERYBODY ON THE SCHEDULE. If I'm Sumlin, I don't pull Johnny until the final tick in ever cocksucking, motherfricking game. I don't care if it's 200 - 0.

frick THAT shite.

Yes. I'm mad. We would beat the frick out of nearly every team on that list and would give everyone else (Alabama) a game.

LSU 9th ? They need to read the astute experts on the main Rant. LSU will go 3-9 and go winless in the SEC for the first time since 1983 and second time only in school history.

preseason college football rankings are a joke. Polls should start in October.

I see this crap all the time, but does anyone really think about it before posting it?

We're talking about opinion polls - people's OPINIONS - members of the PRESS' opinions. We're also talking about the United States of America - you know, 1st Amendment freedom of speech and all.

Now people want to censor the publishing of opinions of the members of the press? How does one do this in a free society, exactly?

There is only ONE way to stop the media from publishing their opinions - STOP READING THEM. There is a market demand for these polls, and in this country a market demand is usually met with a supply.

Based on the only factual evidence we have (24-19) you would not beat the frick out of LSU either......now you can go ahead and tell me about the eyeball test
