Q. Coach, in the past couple weeks, we've learned that apparently it's okay with the NCAA to bring back former players who aren't in the NFL to use on scout teams. Is that something that you have done or would consider doing?

COACH MEYER: Say that again.

Q. The NCAA says it's okay for, for instance, Alabama to use Trent Richardson as a scout team player.

COACH MEYER: In practice?

Q. Yes.

COACH MEYER: I did not know that. Like padded practice, he's running plays?

Q. We don't have all the details on it. We just know that he's at practice.

COACH MEYER: Padded practice, NFL players?

In the video, Meyer acted like he was going to call some former Buckeyes right now.

Saban playin chess, everybody else playin checkers.

Myer's face was hilarious. That is up there with his reaction post-Sugar Bowl to hearing Oregon beat FSU by 40.

Meyer has to remember that he's talking about bama. Rules don't apply to them.

Lane Kiffin used to tell people if they didn't come to his team, they'd be pumping gas. Now he's helping run a program that takes elite recruits and re-purposes them as scout team players for their former team. It is some Matrix level shite.

Seriously though it is a pain in the arse because scout team RBs are always injured because they take such a beating in practice. How would you like to go through a full pads practice against Bama's 1st team defense with a scout team offensive line?

He told Alshon Jeffrey that, yes. I believe Alshon had the last laugh.

No, their players don't washout of the NFL fast enough to be of use to their Alma mater's scout team... talk about selfish.

Yep they finally fulfilled their goals of fizzling out in the league as laughingstocks and returning to run a sad scout team operation for a college team where they use their considerable talents for nothing more than giving their former team a look. That's sad, whether you want to realize it or not.

Alabama squeezes every snap it can out of its talent, sends them to the pros to fail, then uses them as walkons. Anyone being honest about it would see how depressing that is.
