Some news media outlet is reporting Maryland wants Richt as their head coach.

Damon Evans, aka underwear man, is the assistant AD there.

For those who forgot or don't know about this, Evans was the AD at Georgia from 2005-2010...until he got caught holding a woman's (not his wife) panties while being pulled over for DUI.

From the moment he stepped down, Richt shot to my number one on who I would like to coach at Mizzou. He is a good man, a good coach, and would be a natural fit at Mizzou. Recruiting no doubt would be on an uptick with him. I see no negatives with him as our coach, I hope the feeling is mutual.

Of course he would; I mean, hell, he grew up in Boca Raton, played at Miami, coached at FL State and Georgia. Sounds like a Yankee to me.

There is no way the administration at Mizzou is hiring a conservative Christian.

They'd have to start the introductory press conference by issuing a trigger warning.

Mark Richt isn't going to have to interview for any job he wants.

I wish the very best for Richt, but I honestly cannot imagine playing against him in the SEC let alone every single year in the SEC East. Talk about awkward.

Edit: I could see him being a good fit at a school like Maryland or Virginia where he can slowly build a program that doesn't have very high expectations.

It would be a very good fit, imo. Richt is at the age where money + easy street (and Maryland would definitely be easy street in terms of stress and schedule) would be a smart move.

Richt to Mizzou pretty much means your record against the Gators will be abysmal. Co-sign.

And he moved his parents to Athens. His brother and two of his sisters also live in Athens.

Well, according to all the cocky Florida fans coming out of the woodwork recently, damn near every team will have a abysmal record against the Gators.

What legit coach would take the Mizzou job with the political circus going in within that university and state?

I guess we will have to wait and see. I'm not one to say it has very little to zero impact on coaches, but neither do you or anybody else knows the impact. I'm just riding this out and hoping for the best.

One can reasonably assume that if a college football coach at Mizzou with an impressive record, and by all account a good man, can be painted with a racist paint brush and ousted, then why would the next guy set himself up for that type of abuse? The next coach will have his entire life picked apart and examined like a presidential candidate to see if there's even a pinch of racist dirt. Just saying Mizzou, maybe you guys should stop donating money and send a message, this is out of control up there.

Well to be fair when they've been good (90s and 00s before Meyer left) that was a given. However, two things: 1. coach wonder boy's team has already started to fall apart - their performance against Vandy was turrible and that went beyond missing Grier. It's looking more and more like they were extremely fortunate early on. 2. The SEC isn't the same conference it was then.

TBH, it's our fault. Had they won every game this year but lost to us they wouldn't be like this. In fact, had they not one that game I think they drop more games. Also, a certain element of the UF crowd has always been cocky as shite. It's Spurrier's fault, he set that tone way back when.
