UK must be one hell of an attractive place to be getting those 5 stars for free when

U of L and so many other schools have to pay.
Maybe it's just the tradition and mystique that gets them in.

UK does have a track record of placing even guys on their bench into the NBA. They actually can make a somewhat convincing case.
Now, that case breaks down when you realize Calipari had to start somewhere to attract NBA talent recruits year 1

People are getting paid. The AAU circuit is covered up with people getting paid. I would guess that Nike isn't pure either in all this.
We'll see who snitches and what they snitch about. These aren't real thieves. They won't have the honor of thieves.

Kentucky's players are being paid by Kentucky on any large scale. Nike very likely pays them a lot, though.

Oh, Calipari is dirty. Roy Williams is probably even dirtier. Coach K , not so much, but I would wager he knows everything that is going on.

Kids don't give a shite about tradition unless you're talking about the instate kid who's dreamed of an offer all his life. They care about Cal and his ability to get people drafted. Same with Duke. Kids don't come to play for the amazing Duke University they come to play for Coach K.
Rick fell off hard late in his career and relied on assistants to do his recruiting work and they flopped hard. He even hired a former Nike executive a few years ago trying to keep up with UK.
Until last year Rick was known for not playing Freshmen and holding his players back for another year. He cost Montrez Harrell money making him return.

I've said it elsewhere, if you're not implicated in any of the FBI stuff nothing is going to happen any time soon. The NCAA has proved they're not going to find it.

You ever seen their facilities?....They're in the same boat as Alabama. If you were a high school kid that was a nat'l merit scholarship winner wanting an engineering career, would you turn down a scholarship from MIT?

There are a whole bunch of people with their heads in the sand here. College Basketball is DIRTY like no other college sport. Arizona, UCLA, USC all put kids in the Association and they were paying through the nose. If you think UK isn't because they win a lot you are wrong. Calipari is as dirty as Pitino. Coach K, Roy William, Tom Izzo all know what is going on but they have to do it to win to keep getting ridiculous contracts.

The NCAA would love to nail Calipari as much as he shits all over them. And they're not afraid of punishing Kentucky. So either Calipari is the master at hiding all of this or there's simply not enough going on for them to get nailed.
That all said, if Kentucky and Calipari doesn't get caught up in all of this the melt from some folks will be massive. And hilarious.

Sorry you are a poor house when it comes to attraction of star athletes. Might want to watch Bama more closely in football, and UK in basketball.

I don't think UK does get caught in this thing. That doesn't mean that Nike isn't doing it they just didn't get caught

I would if Adidas offered me $200k to take a Cal Tech scholarship instead.

The funny thing about Sleazipari is that he went from being considered a solid-to-good recruiting coach in his days at UMass and early days at Memphis to just suddenly becoming the best recruiting coach in any college sport in history seemingly overnight toward the last year or two at Memphis.
Now, I'm all about people learning, improving, and honing their skills as they go along, but that's a learning/improvement trajectory for the record books. Of course, World Wide Wes has nothing to do with any of this.

And stop comparing your basketball program to Alabama's football program. Win several more titles and then we'll talk. For now, you're a notch below.
