What do you think of Cal repeatedly saying that he'd rather have 1st round draft picks than national championships? It infuriates me and I'd say a vast majority of the fans don't agree.

Does this have to do with his meltdown on Dan Patrick today?

I don't/didn't like it, but it's coach speak. It's his way of shaming you for forgetting that we didn't win the title, but most of those kids leaving will be millionaires.

I don't settle, and no one should complain about 5 Final Fours in 6 years with a Title as well, but also - don't spoon feed me.

No, I didn't even read what he said on DP today. It's bothered me ever since he said it a few years ago and repeated it recently. It just pisses me off when my coach doesn't care if he wins or not.

Well he never said that, so you can sleep better now.

Great recruiter, average big game coach.

I understand he's selling his players first vision, and that's what recruits like but a few times it's seemed like he's coming AT the fans when he says it.

I love Cal, and I think he's been the perfect hire but it does kind of bother me when he says things like this. Like setting the 1st round draft pick record is the biggest moment in UK history. No it's barely top 10 Cal, but keep up the good work ....

I've defended Cal's coaching ability plenty of times against this type of accusation, but I have to say, not winning the title this year with that team makes it increasingly more difficult to do.

It's just coach speak by a guy who's always recruiting. He's also said in multiple interviews that losing last season didn't sit well with him either. He's had as good or better results than any Kentucky coach in my lifetime at this point. Until that changes it doesn't much matter to me how he wants to present his brand.

Doesn't bother me one bit. He is sending a message to recruits.

He threw a typical Coach Cal hissy fit.

I really dont get the message he is sending? The recruits are going to go pro pretty much wherever they go. Why not go play for a coach who cares about winning a championship first and then go pro after.

LOL,

You pissed because he basically said some recruits are selfish and would never fit into his system? Seems that was a shot at some looking to have the ball and put up shots instead of playing as a team.

Why would this make me mad? I agree not every player could play in his system.

I think y'all are reading too much into the interview. Both Cal and Dan go way back and are good friends, they always go back and forth with each other when Dan interviews Cal. Cal was basically putting Patrick in his place a bit. And yes, he was calling out a couple of recruits that decided to go to other schools. Like he say, Kentucky is not for everyone.

First of all Geaux Racers from a fellow Murray State grad.

I really don't pay a lot of attention to Cal's comments as much as I do to what he does. Believe it - he wants NC's as bad as anyone.

He hurt himself with the platooning stuff and now he is trying to get the attention back from many of the top elite talent. He got stiffed this year from a lot of top guys because they do not want to do that.
