I would have thought with all the money the uga athletic department has they would have had a top 10 indoor facility 10-15 years ago.

I'm being serious when I say that I think our athletic director opens a vault every night and does a Scrooge McDuck dive into a pool of money. There's no other explanation for it. We're usually always listed in the top 10 of athletic departments by yearly revenue, yet nearly all of our facilities are bombed out and dated as frick. It took an assistant coach literally yelling at the media about how our shitty facilities (or lack of facilities) were costing us recruits before our AD got off his arse and did something about it. When we have a coaching vacancy, do we go out and try to poach a top coach from another school? No, we usually hire someone no one has ever heard of and hope that it works because we're saving an extra $150k per year. frick you, Greg.

UGA is the ultimate sleeping giant in college sports. This is for all college sports.

Ton of talent in every direction/attractive city/good school.

Both Auburn and Clemson have won nattys in the past 10 years. UGA can barely sniff a big 6 bowl

I seriously doubt thy capitalize.

It has been like that as long as I can remember and that is back to Joel Eaves. He and Vince Dooley were typical barners that were so tight they squeaked when they walked. Believe it or not, it was reported that John Guthrie was making only $12K a year when he was replaced by Hugh Durham

Look at it this way, UGA is still very competitive and I'd pick them as the favorite in the east this year.

Just wait until the bank opens, your facilities will be nicer than everyone else's for a few years and you'll rake in the recruits.

Not even remotely true. We've also got one of the very best basketball training facilities in the country.

Coleman coliseum is big and recently renovated.

But it is a cavernous room(who needs 15k seats in college) and it looks horrible on TV.

Wish we could revamp the place, make it more intimate, better sight lines.

Either that or burn and down and start all over.

It is true that the UGA administration was tight with the purse strings for the longest time and they often half-arse projects, but I don't think anyone can complain about the money being spent as of late. In the last 7 years, counting the new Sanford Stadium west endzone project, UGA will have spent almost 150 million dollars just on football. Over 30 million on the indoor facility, another 65 million on Sanford Stadium, and almost 50 million on Butts-Mehre a few years ago. That doesn't even count the millions spent on Sanford Stadium's Reed Plaza.

The facilities are very good and you guys are talking like they're the worst in the country.

Mark Richt's next stop appears to be BC.

You've never been to T-town. Terrible views and dark.

I wasn't even referring to Coleman Coliseum or any basketball arena in particular. I've never been to Coleman Coliseum. UGA has spent almost 20 million to improve Stegeman and they have improved it tremendously. Suggesting it's the worst in the SEC and even the country is completely not true. It's actually a good place to watch a game. It's just old.

It would be nice to build a new basketball arena, but where would we put it. You would first have to tear down Stegeman, but then where are the teams going to play during that time? There is nowhere for them to play in that situation. You can't build it somewhere else because then it wouldn't be near the Coliseum training facility. That would make no sense.

UGA has one of the most financially sound athletic departments in the country. I think they need to spend in order to catch up in places where they're behind, but they don't need to be reckless. That's how athletic departments go into massive debt.

Many, many times dumbass. Probably far more than you.

As for your smartass remark, if commenting that David Marshall was underrated and had a great freshman campaign makes me Mrs Marshall, so be it. Do you have a problem with David Marshall.
