1. They are going to have to force turnovers, probably 2-3 atleast. We have only turned the ball over once this season, a tipped interception in the La Tech game. Not only have we not lost a fumble, we haven't even put the ball on the ground. We have an NFL punter, and if you don't force turnovers, our offense will get enough yards each drive to atleast allow our punter to flip the field and force the opposing offense to go 80-90 yards against the #4 total Defense in the country.

2. They are going to have to create some negative plays on defense. Nick Fitz (#9 in SEC rush yards) and our RB Aeris Williams (#2 in SEC rush yards) have combined to rush for 576 yards on 79 carries, while Fitz only has 4 total negative rushing yards and Aeris only has 2 total negative rushing yards. If you can get us into 2nd and long and especially 3rd long, our offense gets way out of its comfort zone. Atleast half of Fitz pass attempts against LSU were off play action or RPO's, if we are in 2nd or 3rd and long, we are forced to have Fitz drop back and thus become one dimensional, which is the opposite of our game plan.

3. They are going to have to score some points. I know this seems obvious, but to beat us you are going to have to score atleast 20 points. Our offense dinks and dunks while setting up the big play play-action or read option for a touchdown or 30-40+ yards, literally almost every play we run is setting up something for later in the game. Even if you play great defensively, we will have Fitz or Aeris bust a few open as well as a few big play action passes over the middle on a fitz fake run. Fitz has the most rushes over 10 yards in the country since he took over full time last year. If UGA can score 30, they will win.

Good luck to yall, should be a good game between two of the top 10-15 teams in the country. I'd be shocked if this wasn't a one possession game going into the 4th quarter.

If any of you UGA fans want to return the favor with MSU's keys to beating Georgia, it would be appreciated. Don't know too much about yall this year, will Eason be back? If so, will he start over Fromm?

I think you have a good team, but stats/rankings/etc this early in the season are useless. You played a talented LSU team at home and won big. We played a less talented ND team on the road and won close. Nothing meaningful can be gleaned from what happens in the other two games because those teams suck and never had a chance vs either of us.

I think we keep it low scoring because of our defensive speed and ability to contain the QB runs. But that's mostly based on one game vs a less capable dual threat QB. We don't blitz that much and got good pressure with our front 4 vs their highly touted OL.

On offense I have no idea how we will do. We've got some weapons but it remains to be seen if we have an OC or QB that can utilize them vs a competent defense.

As much as I hate Notre Dame, they would beat the doors of this LSU team. LSU has an overall offense problem and lost too much off their d to make up for the bad o.

They also quit.

Notre Dame was only in our game because in my opinion they were very well coached on d and the zebras gave them every benefit of the doubt they could.

Notre Dame would finish in the top quarter in this Years sec.

And I hate the bastards but that is what I saw from our game.

IDK about that. I think the shittalkers of this forum will be disappointed about how good Notre Dame actually is, but it will be more on the 8-4ish level....maaayyybbbeeee 9-3.

We're going to find out if Georgia's secondary has improved from letting the guy that usually never plays well vs FBS teams throw for a ton of yardage this week most likely.

Exactly. That LSU defense was tired. Everything went right for MSU. From penalties, field position, dropped balls by LSU, etc. credit to them, they took advantage. But I think the scoreboard was a little misleading. At least, offensively.

It starts by pretending LSU was a national title contender when they clearly weren't. They just beat a middle of the pack SEC team, not some juggernaut.

I gave MSU their props but LSU didn't exactly help themselves. All those penalties we should have lost. If LSU plays clean they could possibly score 21 in the first quarter alone but they didn't. I highly we play a game that undisciplined again this year

Unfortunately, LSU has been playing the same undisciplined ball all season so far. I was listening to BR radio the week leading up and penalties were the story even against UT-Chat. Hope they turn it around though.

I think there's a good chance that whoever wins this game is going to rip off a 10 win season or maybe even better.

here's to a good game state fans!

At this point whos to say we aren't in that boat? It seems the entire SEC is beyond mediocre this year.

I just don't think we know enough about either of these teams to say how this game should go.

MSU has looked more impressive then UGA in the first 3 games, but I do believe UGA is more talented then MSU on paper.

I do know this, this game will determine if Kirby Smart is becoming the coach the entire UGA fan base hopes he becomes.

I'm guess I'm going to State the obvious. Stop the run and make Fitz throw the ball. He's can throw the ball but he is better with his legs.
Double Simmons, he seems to be in the back field every play and test our secondary. Our secondary hasn't being tested and our defensive line push has helped our secondary when they were tested.

Don't come out on y'all first drive and get dick slapped by the ref on a bullshite call on a 67 yard TD pass

Complete momentum breaker and set the tone for the rest of the game.

1) we do have NFL players who can knock and strip the ball loose. I wouldn't be surprised if you do put the ball on the ground. We have zero interceptions and about 9 dropped interceptions. Even with chances caused by pressure, I don't like our odds that we hold onto the ball. I don't expect 2 or 3 turnovers, but it certainly would help. You do seem to protect the ball.

2) we have the players who can penetrate the backfield and create negative plays. This is something that we are pretty good at. And in obvious passing downs, we have done a good job sacking mobile QBs (in non passing downs, we did a great job keeping a fast ND QB in the pocket).

Scoring points is our issue. We have weapons. But can we drive the field? With short fields, I like our chances to put up points better. Fortunately, our defense and special teams has been solid to date. Unfortunately, we do take too many negative plays on offense. And it is hard to march the field without consistency.

This.

If y'all get pressure on our line and stop the run game it would be hard to get the W. Same for both teams, dominate the LOS.

The key to beating UGA is to make Fromm beat you.

Chubb, Sony, and Swift will make positive yards despite your defense doing all the right things. But you will also have an opportunity to stuff at and behind the LOS. The downside to crowding the LOS is creating your own traffic that can hurt your pursit (i.e. our backs can rip off big games if you clog too many guys into the box and they shield their own pursuit).

On offense, accurate passing will move the chains. Accurate passing might occupy the linebackers and safeties enough to open running lanes. Against lesser teams, our front 4 has been sufficient to slow down an opponent. I don't know that we can duplicate that or not.

Our weakness on defense is our dbs stopping the pass. If you can stop our pass rush, you'll have chances to pick up a lot of yards through the air.

On offense we are still struggling (imo) with consistency. We want to establish the run, but we've struggled running up the middle, which renders our play action less effective. Another part of the problem is it is the second year in a row we are starting a true freshman QB. Finally, we have yet to work our talented TEs into the play book.

Don't make excuses, you're sounding like a State fan, pointing to a penalty in the first quarter when you were beaten by 30 points and only reached the redzone once.

Yes, State caught a break in the 1st Qtr but at the LOS all night long, we dominated. Will that happen again Saturday? I do not know, but this game will be won/lost in the trenches. Both teams look to be stout there. Should be an old fashion slobber knocker.

1. UGA will have to stop State's running attack. Simple as that. Do that and UGA will win the game.
2. Secondary to that is UGA's ability to run the ball as well. Those are your two keys.

I look for a relatively low scoring game.
