@BarrettSallee: SEC passes Georgia’s proposal that bans students who have committed “serious misconduct” (DV, sexual assault) from transferring in.

Meaning that what happens in the court of law doesn't matter?

heard on the radio yesterday something to the extent that teams can still appeal and there will be a review board to determine whether or not to allow the transfer. is this true?

regardless, pussy move by richt. guess he's tired of seeing all the heathen coaches winning with players he booted

Football Players Girlfriends will now be the most coddled member of any student population. Happy GF, happy Head Coach.

Slippery slope is right. Doesn't this mean if a school knows the player would get cut anyways, they can spin it in a way that fits the criteria to prevent that players from going to a rival SEC school?

IF someone beats their GF and tries to choke her out they should not be allowed to play in the SEC. This isnt talking about stealing a iPod or BluRay player or smoking weed or doing coke. This is beating a woman. Their should be a ZERO tolerance policy conference wide. These kids have to learn that they can't get away with everything just because they are a football player.

the rule just says "serious misconduct" and uses DV as an example right? do you realize how ridiculously vague that is? in a real court of law, that would NEVER hold up. btw, the radio show i was listening to was an atlanta based show full of uga guys, and they were blasting richt for it. he shouldn't concern himself with how other programs discipline their players. why should he care? integrity of the league? pleeeaaasseee.

So one athletic department says that smoking weed is serious. They say this by kicking a player to the curb. Another AD says "we feel his rehab was sufficient, and want him on our team." I guess Mark Richt gets to decide what happens. I guess the man has finally gained control.

Eh

There's still an appeal process which means the school would have to provide proof of the action to keep the player from transferring. If a coach kicks a kid off and proceeds to attempt to keep him from transferring, he better have proof of the offense. Otherwise he, and the rest of the AD, will get crucified by the fans and media.

First mistake.

I am talking about DV. If you beat your GF you should not be allowed to play at another SEC school.
