Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions but the guy sounds like a total pussy

Here is another for 1983. Notice no one is even close to AU. 18,000 strength score for AU while the next closest are 3 teams in the 15,000 range. And notice the SOS rank. 9095 and next closest is 6680. We are talking historic numbers for the 1983 AU team and schedule. No team in the history of college football has ever defeated 5 consecutive top 20 opponents. No team in the history of college football has ever done as well against as difficult a schedule. Historic numbers son. There is no argument of the 1983 national champ. It is AU and it is AU by a LOT.
Rank Strength Team Games Total Division Rank Strength
1 18666 Auburn 12 11 - 1 - 0 0 - 0 - 0 1 9095
2 15889 Florida 12 9 - 2 - 1 0 - 0 - 0 4 6680

AU has had three undefeated teams since 1980 and two in the last 11 years. That is the difference in the two programs right now.
AU using "undefeated" seasons as the reason you're better is the same as UGA claiming the last 14 years of H to H as why were =/=...

I won't argue about undefeated seasons as we were undefeated in 1993, but FSU was the actual and deserving national champ with a much tougher schedule.
But I'll fight you on 1983. Because there is no way for anyone to win any rational argument or even make rational argument against AU in 83.

Exactly. You can argue the media was biased or unfair, you'll sound like a pussy but you may be right. To actually claim a title you're gonna need an actual major media outlet of the day that awarded it.
Maybe it was unfair, but to claim 1983 is pure fantasy.

frick yeah we did dumbass. We were crowned national champion by more selectors than anyone else. You could arbitrarily say AU did not win a popularity contest in a given poll, but I could come right back and say, no, but the won 20 polls that are less subjective than your arbitrary poll.
You really are a fool if you think AU was not the 1983 national champ. Best record, toughest schedule BY FAR. Not even close. All time historically tough schedule that pisses on every one else that year and STILL no one could post a better record.
1983 is not even close by any objective metric.

Then who the frick did?
#1 vs #5 where #1 lost?
#2 vs #6 where #2 lost?
There was no national championship game in 1983 dumbass.

I'm dying to know who all these prestigious media outlets were that named Auburn national champs.
Back then it was the AP and the coaches poll. Claiming something else is what everyone else mocks Bama for. Didn't think Auburn would be eager to go down that road.

As I suspected, Miami got the two that count. If Georgia defined NC's the way Auburn fans are trying to claim '83 then we would have a claim to five, which would be ridiculous, because those weren't the dominant media outlets of their day.
