So reading the Finebaum thread, pretty apparent that most you guys claim the 'culture change' is a result of Pruitt. Assuming he is the stud coach you believe he to be, if a HC gig comes calling next year, would you rather Richt get canned and hire JP as coach or let him leave and continue on with CMR?

I'm not convinced that it's all Pruitt but I wouldn't be upset if he takes over after Richt.

That's actually a pretty decent question. As for me, I'd rather keep Richt solely because he's proven to be a good head coach. You see great coordinators all the time who struggle at the head coaching level just because the two jobs are so different (Muschamp, Chow, Robinson). Sometimes they do work out, but I'd rather search for another good DC who sees how we get that position hired (a la Texas mid-2000s) instead of hiding an unproven HC and having to look for a DC.

I believe he should be the heir apparent but if we have another top 10 year you cant just dump CMR so Pruitt won't take another job and its something the administration just won't do.

Now,if the season is a complete disaster I would say all
bets are off.

UGA is just keeping Pruitt busy till Saban retires and Mama calls.

If JP gets a HC gig worth leaving for it means that UGA had a hell of a season. I'll take it.

Pruitt has never been a HC at any level. Richt has been the HC at UGA nearly as long as Pruitt has been coaching, period. Seems like an easy decision.

Richt ist getting canned (is that part of the question?)

I give Pruitt credit for the Bama-lite coaching staff.
But the new president has opened up spending to improve facilities, improve support staff, and change the culture where the school policies were at odds with the football team (and give more control to Richt).

The support staff is the biggest difference in our recruiting (actually fielding a full scholarship team, sending out more offers so we are S.O.L. when we lose on 1 commit)
