FLORIDA (IN)

The Gators (19-14, 9-9) have a non-conference strength of schedule ranks fifth in the nation. And largely benefiting Florida's likelihood of making the field are results in other conference tournaments. West Virginia, a team UF beat, reached the Big 12 tournament title game. And St. Joseph's, another team UF toppled, is in the Atlantic 10 tournament final. Also: Florida Gulf Coast won the Atlantic Sun; Even if FGCU seemed like a non-important victory at the time, that's another win against a tournament team on the Gators' profile. All these factors help Florida's not-that-great RPI of 55.

SOUTH CAROLINA (OUT)

The Gamecocks seem relatively safe because a really pretty record (24-8, 11-7) blankets an unbelievably atrocious non-conference schedule of 270. South Carolina also has just one top-50 win and only played two games against the top 50 RPI. The committee will undoubtedly notice. A road win at Texas A&M might be the only thing that salvages a bid. Losing to Georgia twice in the last few weeks really stands out.

If this happens, the melt would be awesome to watch. And somewhere Dustin Johnson is grinning.

But, it won't Florida will be in Gainsville hosting a NIT game.

USCe is in. Very little doubt in my mind. UF is a long shot.

The melt would be fantastic, but it would also be wrong. I can't see any way the Florida squad gets in, nor should they

I really don't get why South Carolina is still considered a "lock" by a bunch of people.

RPI of 65, non-conference SOS of 270, and three bad losses including a really horrible one to Missouri.

They pretty much check off all of the "snub" boxes.

USCe deserves to be in the NCAA. UF belongs in the NIT imo

Why? Because they played a dreadful non-conference schedule and beat up on a bunch of bad teams? Because they drew the easiest conference schedule by far and still only went 11-7?

Their record is a sham.

UF faded down the stretch in conference and really look like an NIT team. Maybe USCe belongs in the NIT as well. Have not seen them live as much as UF

Not a snowballs chance in hell Florida is anywhere other than the NIT. Give it up already.

Not arguing that we necessarily deserve a bid. But I think we deserve it as much as South Carolina does, and I think the committee will have a tough time choosing between us two, Vandy, and UGA.

I think SC gets in but if UF is now thought to be in I would think UGA would have a similar chance due to playing well and seemingly peaking right now instead of trending down like UF. UF doesn't have as many bad losses as we do though. Can't wait to see who they pick tonight.

Dude, you guys lost 4 of your last 6, were .500 in conference, and struggled to put away a horrific arkansas squad in the tournament, who also went .500.

Florida deserves to be in as much as mizzou deserved to be in the sec tourney

Carolina had a bad steak at a very bad time. If they get in, neither Florida or Georgia do.

If Florida and/or Georgia get in, Carolina will not IMO.

Carolina is the most deserving to get in, followed closely by Georgia,Vanderbilt, alabama, Ole miss, and Florida

In that order

something the committee has said they don't really care about

were .500 in conference
ditto (with unbalanced schedules and all)

struggled to put away a horrific arkansas squad in the tournament
we won

We played a top five non-conference SOS and have two impressive non-conference wins (WVU, St. Joe's). Yeah, the record isn't pretty.

I'd like to hear a compelling argument for South Carolina beyond "hurr they have 24 wins durr."
