I would like to add one really bad thing about Mazzone's offense is that he only keeps five blockers back for blocking maybe the RB. TAM QB better be a quick thinker and have quick release a not hold onto the ball. That often got Hundley in trouble and why we had some many sacks. I'm not here to bash TAM. I actually like TAM and Sumlin. Just be weary of the stats there good but it doesn't tell the whole story.

Single back formations have been around for a long time. Even Alabama runs some plays with 10/11/12 personnel. It's not a new thing.

yea, your football analysis was deemed incomprehensible when you said A&M was thin at DL (cause a DT with 6.5 TFL and 3 sacks was a backup) and aggie would greatly suffer from losing a backup NB (who has 1 INT & 20 career tackles but not one for loss).
Please tell me how A&m is weak at WR or safety next. Hell i'll even give you a freebie; pick on our corners.

I was in San Bernardino last week.
It is no where near the humid Africa hot of that 10 foot deep pit known as Kyle Field.

UCLA by a field goal... and I will probably chuckle a bit....

In response to Roger Klarvin's post, you are misinformed about UCLA in many ways. Our OL is a mess? As an informed alum and UCLA fan, that is far from the truth. ESPN ranked our LT, McDermott, first team AA. Lindy's and Athlon Sports both have McDermott as their 2nd team AA OT. Miller, the RT opposite him is one of their best players with similar size, 6-9 300ish, and one of the strongest on the team squatting 600 lbs this summer. ASU's OT's were new to the starting line up and were far less talented than UCLA's. UCLA will also benefit by having a TE and FB to help the OT's out regarding the pass rush as opposed to ASU, who never use a TE or FB. And our defense is not small except for 2-3 positions. Our starting NG is a 5th year Sr who is 6-3, 320 and has been a workout warrior for years. He lines up next to Eddie Vanderdoes, a former 5 star who is 6-3 305 and one of our best players. Sounds like they will be matched up against a young OG and center from what I have read. To improve against the run, UCLA switched to a 4-3 swapping Hollins, a 220 OLB/pass rusher, for Matt Dickerson, a 290 lb SDE. Jason Brown, the WLB, and Wadood, the FS are both undersized but both are ballers despite their size. Should be a great match up. Go Bruins!

The only reason TexAgs are favored is the fact they are in the SEC. UCLA is better in every other way.

The bigger guys will just melt down faster in the Texas sun and predicted 70% humidity.
Better bring a lot of IV kits.

I think the UCLA secondary will struggle with size of the A&M receiving corps. Ratley, Niederhofer, Pope, RSJ, Reynolds, Hansford, Nacho, and Cline are all 6'3"+.
Knight's ability to extend plays with his legs is also being overlooked by analysts.

Uhhh... that's the whole point of an Air Raid offense. You are supposed to get rid of the ball before you can get tackled. The entire offense is based on that. That's why the splits are so wide. If Hundley couldn't handle it, that's on him and UCLA for recruiting him, but PLENTY of not really that talented QBs have been able to do it.

Heard they were really struggling just to get the calls in earlier this Spring and they had a bunch of delay penalties. The terminology for the offense must be difficult for the QBs.
They had one off-season in today's limited practice environment to install a WCO, coming from Mazzone's handful of simple Air Raid-type plays. Anyone remember Sherman's first game after trying to install a whole legit WCO playbook? Whoa boy...

I think we are exaggerating the heat on Saturday.
90 with 70% humidity is practically fall weather.

Y'all are. I never thought it would be a factor. For some reason our fans always exaggerate how much heat and crowd noise will play a part. Kyle Field is not an advantage to us and hasn't been for over a decade.

We are also finally just recovering from Sherman's failed attempt to move A&M to a 3-4 defense. UCLA is making the change and it just doesn't happen overnight.

UCLA played mostly an even front last year. Its a hell of a lot easier to switch from an odd to an even than it is the other way around - most 34 teams already play even fronts greater than 50% of the team because of how often they are in nickel/dime.
This game is going to come down to whether or not the Aggie patchwork and inexperienced OL can stop a very talented UCLA DL.
Trevor Knight has never thrown for more than 2300 yards in a season, is a career 57% passer, and has nearly as many career int's as Td's (19ints vs 25td's).
Outside of one miracle game against Alabama (in 2013!) he has been trash as a QB. Not sure why anyone would count on him to be anything more than mediocre.
