Which Aggie has EVER said Jim Turner is a terrible OL coach? The last two, who we fired, were terrible. Turner was Mike Sherman's OL coach.
I was wondering that too, he's arguably one of the best we've had in decades.

so much misinformation in this thread i dont know what to correct. its clear most non-A&M dont know very much about our personnel.

To be honest, this could be one of the most competitive games of the weekend. Both teams return a lot of talent and have similar question marks. It's funny that the offenses are much more a concern than defense for each squad.
Rosen is proven, but WR lacks playmakers and the running game hinges on a thin OL. At the end of the day, I think consistent pressure on Rosen proves to be too much, Ags win.

Our DL is not thin. Deepest they've been in years.
Really? A&M has an exceptional DE in Garret and another very solid player in Hall to bookend him. Depth at DE is rather thin in both overall experience and longterm talent. There are some upperclassmen at DE, but none that would be considered the next get DE from a talent standpoint.
DT is in many ways just as bad. So the fact that A&M was still actively chasing JUCO's at DT all summer was just for longterm depth? It looks like Walker and Henderson have beaten out Mack for starts at DT and neither of those two are dynamic in comparision to Macks overall abilities (hes just got to find a real playing weight).
To make things worse it looks like Madubuike is going to miss that start of the season if not have to injury redshirt due to a lingering back(?) issue from his HS year. He was by far the most impactful of the new FR coming in. Unless Muton can provide instant impact the interior will still be paper thin with little real depth.
As far as safety goes, Dunning was considered a key component because he has the primary big S for the standard nickle A&M runs. He was there to essentially not have to have a LB on the field, the real blackhole position for A&M (and this was before the Walker suspension).
so yeah, the DL is thin and the S/Nickle hybrid spot are both thin. This is one of the reasons why the run D is still a big question mark.

So because they aren't as good as Garrett we don't have depth?

TD Moton who had offers from Georgia, Bama, LSU, etc.....
Also Mack is starting according to 24/7..

Once again he was not a starter. Donovan Wilson will be starting at this position for the 2nd year in a row.
You really don't know much about our roster. Even for a longhorn

Wilson was pretty damn good. 5 INTs with 1 being a pick 6, 8.5 TFL, & the 4th highest grade of all safeties last year on PFF.

So much this. Hell I don't even know who is going to win. I expect it to be close. But I feel like a teacher grading papers in this thread. So many "X"es.

I've always loved this reasoning.
"Take away the things that he has done, and he hasn't done them."
Genius.
He had 15 total yards on 37 carries last year. The single 37 yard run stopped him from being in the negative.
I think it's pretty safe to say he isn't much of a runner based off of that.

I could have just left it at that, but the fact that a single carry kept him from being negative was even more telling.

Oh good no. Nowl did help but go ask ASU fan how well Mazzone did? We were very excited to get him than we saw for ourselves the problem with his scheme. It is lacking in short yardage situations as must have a dual threat QB. Hunley to improve his draft status wanted to be more of a pocket passer and that just does not work in Mazzone's scheme. Sumlin like Saban to Kiffen might be what he needs.

Close first half.
Aggies pull away in the 3rd quarter.
Those UCLA boys are going to melt down.

How's your Oline looking? A&M will have one of the best Dlines in the country this year, so they better be ready.
Tackles are very good. Guards are good. Center recovering from surgery that kept him out a year. UCLA is 2 maybe 3 deep before getting into the weeds. This is a huge question mark as well as a go to receiver.
This is where the heat will be a huge test. I am sure IV's will be served at half time. Not going to lie wish this was a night game. The line will struggle with the heat. Hopefully the high pressure we are having mud week will be strong enough and move east keep the humidity to a minimum, fat chance I know.

Oh this again.
Scoring O / Total O / O EFF
08 - 84 / 100 / 89
09 - 91 / 90 / 104
Hire Mazzone
10 - 27 / 29 / 36
11 - 28 / 24 / 26
Once again his track record shows he can take a bad offense and make it good in one year. He's not the elite of elite, but if you run our a Chavis D, you don't need to be.

Again stats are great but when it matters is where he fails look at the stanfod sc games.
Still scratching our headd on zone read play calls. Look at stats all day long. Just telling you how it cost UCLA games. Dude is a stat machine no question about it. I love his scheme just wish there was a bit more to it and naybe some else doing tge play calling. Hard to explain we said they thing when ASU fans warned us about Mazzone and his nozone since they are the ones to coin that phrase if I recall. We struggled against UNLV that was run by a HS coach.

You sound like the LSU fans with their 3rd & Chavis BS.

Dude you can throw stats all damn day. Noel will cost you one game vs a team you have no business losing to. Go to other bruin and asu open boards and ask them about Mazzone. Can't explain it. Stats don't lie but they aren't the truth either. A lot fans were frustrated because his offense is QB friendly and easy to install. But there is a big nasty hickup in it and a strond SEC defense with fast guys will expose it.
