Yes, blowing a 34 point lead late in the third is not great, but my guess is that Chavis isn't at the kind of depth he needs to go four full quarters just yet. The defense had shut those guys down for almost three full quarters but simply ran out of gas against one of the best QBs in college football on the road, and a long road trip at that.

In the end you had a one point road loss against a team that we don't know quite enough about yet, but is at the very least a solid P5 program in a game in which the Aggies were almost a TD dog.

It's a long season and that was an OOC loss. Not pretty, but the sky isn't falling just yet.

Their QB was carted off the field. Now is a perfect time to panic.

It's a short season. The difference in a win vs a loss on your record is huge. When you have dominated your opponent in such a fashion and are up 34 points late, you seal the deal. You cannot afford to bumble a game you had a 99.9% chance of winning.

1. You have a head coach so stupid he runs the ball 4 times in the 4th with a huge lead. He goes with the pass well within fg range late, predictably giving up a sack and missing a fg

2. You give up 35 straight in perfect chavis late game melt fashion.

It's panic time

The mental aspect of blowing such a huge lead so late in the game will be tough for a team to overcome. It will be especially tough for a team that knows it's HC was already on the hot seat and now they know his seat is in flames.
