Tuscaloosa is buzzing right now... haven't seen anything like it for Bball

If AJ's job was to simply fire up the fan base, he's already passed in flying colors... people aren't even talking about spring practice right now.
Fan excitement plays a large part in creating a great sports environment. Saban knew when we packed out BDS for his 1st spring game that this was gonna be something special and it has been.
I know a lot of you have been taking shots at the cost, the experience, the recruiting and all that but ,the one thing that can't be denied is the splash this hire is with Bama fans... so you can continue to bash but we are on cloud 9 and I know for a fact that Marshall would not have created this kind of excitement.

You absolutely 100% do not know that for a fact.
Marshall would've been an absolute grand slam homerun hire. Johnson I think will be good. There's a pretty big difference between those two.

You think Marshall could go head to head with Johnson in recruiting and win a majority of the time... Marshall doesn't near the NBA connects... our bball camps are going to look like an NBA camp lol. Marshall would have been a cool hire no doubt. Just cause Avery fell in our laps doesn't mean this wasn't a HUGE hire.

Seriously. Marshall would have been the much better higher. He's proven himself as a GREAT college coach. Avery could be good, but Marshall would have been much bigger. I think some people are properly excited for it, but a few others are getting Tennessee Football Fan syndrome. Just wait for him to do good things before praising him as the next great coach.

Not close to the atmosphere of the Plaid Palace and the games vs Arkansas.
We're as excited as auburn was last year with pearl. The games will tell the story.
But I do think it will work out for Bama.

Do au fans keep forgetting who they hired lol... seriously. Your coach had a freaking "show cause" he lost to the coach we fired, 3 times lol. Pearl is seriously overated. He's all of a sudden the weakest recent hire.

Why would we not be excited about a former NBA coach of the year whose face has been attached to NBA basketball on ESPN the last couple of years. just watch a interview of the guy and you would be a big fan.
