It seemed that once he was injured, the entire AU defense changed for the worse. Obvious, the defense had some issues against JSU as well last week in his absence.

Is Matthews supposed to play this weekend against LSU?

Possible, but I think Gus gives all our injured players a week to rest. Put all eggs in beating MSU and going 4-1..

Probably.

The question is Lawson. Both if he plays and whether he is close to 100%.

A healthy trigga + Beast probably means an LSU loss.

Won't know till Sat though.

He put on Twitter this weekend that he'd be back on the field, but there's no telling.

I doubt Lawson sees the field, but I'm optimistic about Trigga

Well him and that guy called Carl Lawson. Add in Holsey, AU could be down 3 key starters.

Is this the same nagging hamstring that kept him off the field at UGA?

Don't forget Justin Garrett and Dontavius Russell missed significant minutes in 2nd half vs Jax St

We realistically could have 5+ starters on D out or not close to full strength

I heard this morning on the radio from an Auburn reporter that Lawson was still on crutches. If he plays he won't have very much push being he has a hip injury. Matthews I heard the same thing if he plays no where never 100%. So if either or both play they won't be 100% and that does not bold well for Auburn.

Tackling Williams or Fournette would not be fun with an injured shoulder or hip.

All with be ready to play with the exception of Holsey. The word was all practice last week, but were held out because they wanted them ready for LSU.

Sure okay that is why Lawson was on crutches yesterday and that is coming from a Auburn sports reporter.

Can't wait to see how Matthews approaches Fournette when he has to tackle him one on one with a bummed shoulder

The word was also that they would all play last week.

We need Lawson and Matthews playing well to have a chance this week imo.
