:smh: you're dead to me trent! Circle button Eddie Lacy or CBEL will be twice the running back MBATR ever was. And dont even get me started on our 2014 back.

Individual fans tend to value national championships more than one individual player making millions of dollars in the NFL. So, when a player makes a statement that appears to devalue what the fan holds dear, they feel slighted. In this case, though, I think you're just flaming.

Anyone see Trent's response to Brown's comments?

quote:

"I don't have a reaction to that because I've got a lot to play for," Richardson said, according to the Browns' official web site. "With big shoes and the stuff he did in life, I've got a lot to prove. I don't listen to anything negative about it and I'm going to prove him wrong. I'm an ordinary human, but as a back, I'm going to be that special guy."

You sure he didn't say, "bigger than winning the national championship at Alabama, for real..."?

Of course. One is an amateur sport. He's now about to get paid in one year what 99% of humanity won't see in a lifetime. Kid has his head on straight.

It's stupid to compare the two, but let's play this game and let's ask ourselves this same question. If I had multi millions thrown at me for my career, you best damn believe it would be bigger than winning a national championship at any school. I would think supporting and taking care of your family would be the most important thing in your life.

But comparing the two are stupid. The kid has entered the next phase of his life. TR has his head on straight.

For us fans, it's entertainment. For athletes like TR and Cam, it's a career. It doesn't mean that they love their schools any less. Look at Shaq.

Who wouldnt be excited about signing a contract that obligates him to blow out his knees carrying the worst offense in the NFL.
