First, let me say watching the OM melt live on National TV was great entertainment, drama like this can't be scripted any better.
But I digress to my question. How in the hell did Treadwell end up in Oxford?
I have to admit that I had no idea he was from outside Chicago until they were talking about him after he was picked.
As soon as I heard this, I was thinking it was a bit odd for a talent like Treadwell to go from Chicago to Oxford, MS, to let's be totally honest a program that has not won anything since the late 50's/early 60's. I mean I can see a kid like this going to a Bama/FSU or a program with some type of recent success.
But Ole Miss, c'mon. It doesn't pass the smell test.
Did he or does he have any family ties to Ole Mississippi?

Let it go, he is a good kid. Apparently the only one we have.

We signed his best friend the year before

It was between us and okie state, I mean neither school was really close to home. However, Oklahoma state obviously has a good pedigree of sending receivers to the league.

Not an indictment of the kid at all. Seems like he is the best of the bunch.
More of a question of how the snake oil preacher got him to come to his revival tent?

His mama was home coming queen at Miss State. Does that count?

Tunsil doesn't seem like a "bad" kid just slow and unmotivated. Not worried about him beating up someone or anything

Treadwell was a 5 star #1 wide receiver from Chicago and he ended up going to Ole Miss coming off a 7-6 and 2-10 season. How do you think he got there?

Don't you remember? 2013 was the year "all the stars aligned" for Ole Miss. They ran with that for about a year or so.

Good kids need money too. Ole Miss likely paid him too. You know this.

Anthony Standifer was his name and he was processed after Treadwell signed with OM.

This. They used this reasoning a lot. Great way to cover up shite and not get the NCAA up your arse. "Oh nothing to see here, we signed his best friend. We signed his brother. His brother got a job here. His girlfriend received a scholly and he wants to go to school with her." One after another. And that ain't all of the instances. It's clever but you take a chance with the type characters they were signing.

Good Lord people, we all know Oxford is Heaven on Earth. He visited and was mesmerized by the streets of gold. That coupled with the "faith based" program of the good Rev. Freezus plus the great tradition of winning that is Ole Miss football was an opportunity he couldn't pa$$ up.

With all the gay-looking white dudes running around Oxford, its no surprise that all the women there have turned to the BBC.
