I'm trying to think of a few

Only ones coming to mind right now are 2012 and 2006 off top

Looked up 2006 and not so strong after all

UF champ

Auburn and LSU finished very high in polls

Yet somehow Arkansas finished unranked and won the west? Is that right did they get raped in a bow or something

UGA was top 15 or so and tenn just made it at 24 or so

How can you look that up and not see the final rank? Arkansas finished #15

Toughest/deepest years in SEC since expansion?

Judging by Final AP Points, here were the SEC's strongest years since 1992:

#1 2012- 116 pts (#1 AL, #5 UGA, #5 A&M, #8 SCAR, #9 UF, #14 LSU #23 VAN)
#2 2013- 108 pts (#2 AU, #4 SCAR, #5 MIZ, #7 AL, #14 LSU, #18 A&M, #24 VAN)
#3 2011- 94 pts (#1 AL, #2 LSU, #5 ARK, #9 SCAR, #19 UGA)
#4 1997- 89 pts (#4 UF, #7 UT, #10 UGA, #11 AU, #13 LSU, #22 OM)
#5 2010- 88 pts (#1 AU, #8 LSU, #10 AL, #12 ARK, #15 MSU, #22 SCAR)

Here are the 5 weakest years by the same measure:

#19TIE 2009- 63 pts (#1 AL, #3 UF, #17 LSU, #20 OM)
#19TIE 1994- 63 pts (#5 AL, #7 UF, 9 AU, #22 LSU, #24 MSU)
#21TIE 2015- 56 pts (#1 AL, #10 OM, #16 LSU, #22 UT, #25 UF)
#21TIE 1995- 56 pts (#2 UF, #3 UT, 21 AL, #22 AU)
#23 2002- 50 pts (#3 UGA, #11 AL, #14 AU)
#24 2000- 43 pts (#10 UF, #18 AU, #19 SCAR, #20 UGA, #22 LSU, #242 MSU)

The weakest year turns out to be 2000. No teams in the Final Top 9.... and 5 teams ranked between #18 and #24). That year there was just a ton of parity with no great teams.

Intersting. I know one talking point our rivals try to point out is that UGA only wins the east when it's weak.

#19TIE 2009- 63 pts
#19TIE 1994- 63 pts
#21TIE 2015- 56 pts
#21TIE 1995- 56 pts
#23 2002- 50 pts
#24 2000- 43 pts

Who won the east in these years when the league was very down?

UF- 5 times
UGA- 1 time

Terrible luck for South Carolina during 2010-2013, having their best teams when the league was at its strongest..

Some of those Gamecock teams were BCS caliber but the SEC had to get in the way...

2010

2010 for the SEC West will in all likelihood never be topped by a conference division ever again... 5 teams in the Final Top 15

#1 AU
#8 LSU
#10 AL
#12 ARK
#15 MSU

However, the SEC East could only muster one ranked team that year in #22 South Carolina... a team that finished the year with 5 losses.
