You omitted the best defense that LSU has faced. I don't think you did so intentionally, but it's very common to overlook data that counters the point one is trying to make.
Also, this early in the year it is pointless to look at opponents stats without stripping out their LSU game. If you were really motivated to provide useful stats for this discussion, why didn't you? The circumstantial evidence is overwhelming that you had another agenda. It's okay, though. You've been very polite about it.

There is no doubt LSU hasn't played very good defenses yet but lets be honest if Les would have let him play in the 4th he most likely would have gotten 300 yards in a game twice already. Heck he was a penalty against Cuse away from getting it.

We think alike. IF I was an LSU fan arguing with a Bama fan about the defenses LSU had faced to date, I'd do exactly what you suggested. It's more work than I'm willing to do though since I'm not in any arguments currently.

I corrected my error. The website I used for the LSU schedule was shaded in two different purples and I just missed 'Cuse. Again, my apologies. There was no nefarious intent.

And yes, this is the argument the LSU should make in such a debate. You can use the stats by digging deeper and removing the LSU game to prove your assertion. I'm not willing to go that far because I'm not making any arguments here.
Yeah, not doing that. I didn't start some dumbass troll thread.

On the surface, I'd agree with you. However, I would take out the LSU game for each of your opponents just to see where they'd be ranked if not for being trampled by LF.

The stats presented aren't very useful save for the lazy folks that want to jab LSU in the ribs.

While I agree he will find the road ahead much tougher to grade,I wouldn't bet against him getting his yards.

I totally agree with you. You can hope to slow LF but not stop him IMO. He's just too big and good. Rare talent indeed.

Anyway, good talk LSU fans. Be good hosts for poor ole USC as I know you will and we'll see you guys soon. Enjoy the games this weekend.

Is it common for you to start threads and then spend the entire time convincing people it had no point and is probably useless?

I'm curious... did the OP say anything about that? I think he just posted some stats on LSU's opponents. It's everyone else in the thread that has taken those stats and run with it.

No he just happened to leave out Syracuse in the first post and had McNeese State (who wasn't played) at "lolololooking it up". This was definitely not a troll thread., I'm sure.

Jaguars can get him in the NFL draft.

The reason Bama & LSU typically play close and competitive games is similar styles and great athletes.

Not a hard game for neither to get up for.

Syracuse is 17th in total rushing yards allowed per game and 18th in rushing yards allowed per carry.

...

Prior to LSU, they played:
Rhode Island - FCS school, gained 4 yards on Syracuse
Wake Forest - Couldn't break 100 yards against Indiana
Central Michigan - 90 yards against Syracuse, 84 yards against MONMOUTH (Cent Mich has never broken 100 yards)

Syracuse has played HORRIBLE running teams outside of LSU.

Context, my friend. Context.

Two things:

1) LSU has to schedule better defenses.

2) LSU's offensive line does not block. The opposing defenses just don't oppose well.

3) Thank goodness that the mighty vaunted UF defensive saviors/ministers of defense (that LSU has managed to score and move the ball on in winning the last 2 meetings) will come into Baton Rouge and shut LSU down.

*Now start a thread with rankings of the awesome offenses your defense has faced.

If I were involved in some argument that warranted those stats, I would most certainly do so. I don't argue over basic stats though. They are what they are and each side will interpret them as they see fit.

When you see me make a thread arguing that our offense is awesome, I'd assume someone, such as yourself, would quickly crush my argument with stats.

But listen road.... don't be an idiot. All of these teams would have top 10 defenses if they hadn't played LSU's offense.

They wouldn't be top 10, but take the LSU game out of their stats and see where they are.

I'm legitimately curious. Syracuse had/has a very legit run defense.

And Auburn showed worse than anyone we played.

I am much more interested in UF-LSU than Bama-LSU right now. Bama lost. Somehow, the Gumps seem to think that losing to OM makes them better. The Gump brain is really odd.
