It's close, but I really think Mathieu has the edge, with his 3 forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries, INT, and he leads Mosley in solo tackles and Assits

Barkevious Mingo may have something to say about this by the end of the season.
But it's hard to argue with Tyrann Mathieu right now as best freshman defensive player.
