LINK

15 Vandy
50 Florida
56 UGA
74 Texas A&M
99 Auburn
103 Alabama
103 Tennessee
107 South Carolina
111 Missouri
133 Kentucky
135 LSU
135 Arkansas
135 Ole Miss
176 Mississippi State

Very interesting.

Really thought Missouri and Texas A&M's AAU status would have put both of them in the top 50.

I simply have no words for Mississippi State right now. I don't know too much about that particular college, but there must be some serious problems there in more ways than I can comprehend.

Us dropping out of the top 50 in the past few years is a testament to the fact that Rick Perry shouldn't be trusted with anything. Oh yeah, and the fact that texas is the poster child for illegal immigration.

These rankings are very much a blend of public and private schools as well...so don't get your panties too far in a wad as far as future discussions go.

It is really intriguing data nontheless.

Yet, they are AAU qualified.

....while being ranked at #111.

I don't get the AAU at all. I am missing something obviously.

Not really.

Universities work year round in both athletics and academics.

These type of statistics are extremely important from time to time in this regard.

Tbh, A&M really took a hit. I dont think I would let my kid go to an SEC school other than Vandy

There's nothing to get. You're either in or out.

The private institutions in the top 50 are killing it.

I know it has always been that way, but there are some schools in that Top-50 that I was surprised to see 20 years ago.

We REALLY need to focus more on academics in the SEC moving forward.

At what point does this thread turn into an Alabama/Auburn girl fight?

Texas A&M really needs to get a hold on those acceptance standards.

Getting too large will make you forget your identity as a University at some point.

That is basically the whole State of California in a nutshell as of today.

The price of winning comes with some academics setbacks. Sometimes you have to choose.

The last 5-6 schools in the rankings shuffle around every year. MSU is a top 100 research school, and I wouldn't expect US News to know that.
