it absolutely removes him from consideration.
Actually, it doesn't. That was my point.
All-time NFL passing leaders:

Matt has played in 15 more games. With that said, he also has:
-higher completion %
-8,000 more yards
-50 more average YPG
-49 more TDs
-also quite a few more interceptions

It's clear you struggle with logic, or actually just basic reading skills period.
So I'll leave by saying, "yes, you are right!"

Eli was better than Murray in college. He would have absolutely dominated had he played on a team with equal talent as Murray

why is that funny? He asked us to rank the top 5 modern SEC QBs, not the top 5 seasons by an SEC QB. I think Cam had the best individual season in modern history, for sure. I also think he may go down, eventually, as one of the best NFL QBs before he's done.
That said, we were asked to rank SEC QBs, which I took to mean rank their careers. Cam was great for AU. Natty and Heisman. AJ was great for Bama. #2 in Heisman and won 2 Natties (on team for a 3rd).

Because I happen to think a quarterback who is still adding to his first place passing yards in a career, should be considered 'modern' I struggle with logic?

Tim Tebow #1? Really? His mechanics were terrible, he had Percy Harvin, and he had a stellar defense. He was a gamer for sure, and a great guy, but he's not the best QB the SEC has produced in the past decade. Put him on Auburn's team in 2010, AU doesn't win the NC. I'll leave it at that
Yes they do. Tim is/was an excellent leader and a great football player. "His mechanics were terrible" look at his numbers man. All he has ever done is be successful! The one legitimate chance he got to play in the League, he won like 7 straight including a playoff win

I like Aaron Murray a lot, but please compare the talent he had around him to what Eli had at Ole Miss.

No list is worthy without Ryan Mallett.
