Top 3 most impressive teams so far (Not Including Alabama)

1. Mississippi State
This one was probably a given considering their dominant performance over LSU. Their team may not be top 5 in the conference talent wise, but they have the hunger of Bama's first championship team under Saban. Will this be enough to carry them throughout the season and maybe even knock Alabama out of the top spot?
2. Kentucky
While Kentucky hasn't played an LSU caliber team yet, they impressed me in their win over South Carolina. This program has been known for inconsistency week in and week out, so we will see if they can continue to win and maybe challenge Georgia for the East.
3. Georgia
Georgia has done some nice things this year, primarily being able to plug in a freshman QB and not skip a beat. They look like the clear front runners in the East, but will they pull a Georgia and lose a game they shouldn't at some point? It looks like the odds are in their favor for now.
Honorable Mentions: Vandy (offensively not impressive enough to earn a spot in the top 3)
Auburn (finally has a great defense again, but the lack of offense against Clemson kicks them out of the top 3, especially with all the preseason offensive hype about Stidham.)
Side Note: These rankings don't mean I think any team is better than the other. This is how much they have impressed me based off preseason hype.

Kentucky beat USCe but Vandy beat a Kansas State team pretty much everybody believes is better than USCe. Your reasoning is faulty.

I agree Vandy beat a ranked team, but they don't have the offense to even compete with a team that can score.
Kentucky would score on Vandy, Vandy doesn't really score on anyone.

defense has six 4 stars and two 5* starting on defense. So don't underestimate the talent on that side... on the other side a heisman hopeful QB, a projected 1st round LT, three 4 star running backs and 2 four star receivers (Dear will be back) and a couple of great TEs.
We have a heckuva lot more talent than people realize.

MTSU - #12 offense in college football last year
Manages 6 points against Vandy's backups.
Kansas State - Scored 55 points in each of first 2 games
Manages 7 against Vandy.
Vandy = 2-0 in those games

I agree, but Alabama, LSU, Florida, Auburn, and Tennessee all have more talent.

Middle Tenn. W 28 - 6
Alabama A&M W 0 - 42
Kansas State W 7 - 14
Vanderbilt has scored 84 points. UK has scored 74. You don't math too good.

Kansas State played 2 highschool teams.

I think it's sort of based on expectations.
MSU - Better than expected, they deserve that spot.
Kentucky - Maybe. It's just so hard to gauge based on SCAR
UGA - I think they're in the top 2-3 by default. They've looked competitive in a sea of teams that look mediocre or bad. Nothing they've done is particularly impressive in a normal year, but as of now they're the only Big 6 team (other than Alabama) who looks generally like they're supposed to look. Florida, Tennessee, LSU and Auburn all look like varying degrees of shite.

You can obviously add basic numbers so congratulations.

We held KSU to 7 points. I'm not saying Kentucky can't score some points, but it's not like we'd have to win a shootout.

and we've all seen what mullen can do with subpar talent. We are closer to par than we've ever been is the point i was trying to make. Sleeping on us is not a wise decision this year.

I am pointing out that you just made things up.
Kentucky hasn't put any points on anyone any good and 23 against a shitty USC team doesn't sway my opinion yet.
Vandy's offense may end up being insufficient but there is no evidence yet that indicates they are less effective than UK. Quite the contrary.

Maybe the fact that we are playing Vandy this week had something to do with my rankings. Maybe not.

If Vandy's offense is ineffective against Bama I will restrain from setting any couches on fire.
