this is a great article. of course, I loathe Rick Perry and that helps. the "ring" thing is so true. i'm at a sports bar shortly after moving here and I strike up a conversation with the guy next to me while watching one of the games on the tube. he informs me he's a graduate of a&m and then he begins to flaunt his ring; like he thought I would kiss it or something. come to find out , he was a high school PE teacher. now, i'm not knocking that but damn, he was languishing at about 50-60k income and coming off like his "ring" made him special. I was making 4 times that but I had this "inferior" LSU degree. what a joke.
