Played for Cal at UMass, was an assistant for Cal at Memphis, and led UTEP to a top 25 ranking and the NCAA Tournament.

Better suggestions out there? Dude is a good recruiter and brought UTEP from the amiss in three years

Did you expect them to get Boeheim to leave Syracuse or something? Auburn isn't exactly a basketball mecca that every coach in the country is dying to go to. Good hire IMO. UTEP has improved every year under him.

He has seemed to progress through his years at UTEP, so that is a good thing.

Decent hire from what we know. Cetainly has a better record than a red headed KY alum coaching at another SEC school.

I was torn between him and Chuck Person, but Person not having a college degree, which is a requirement to be a D1 coach, is probably what made the difference.

Good hire. Not a big splash, but a solid choice.

Extremely happy with the hire. Obviously there were better options, but they were unrealistic.

I'm excited for the season.
