One of the best, if not the best, college quarterback I have ever seen. He was a fantastic college quarterback and a good dude.

Chick-fil-A?

Why wasn't it sponsored by Wuerffel House?

That was well done.

SECN does a great job with these, regardless of the subject matter.

Lotta respect for DW, though

He was QB at UF while I was 6,7,8, and 9.

So my very first real memories of football include one of the greatest to ever play at UF. Such a great guy and an amazing role model.

I saw him speak at some dinner about 6 years ago one time and some of the things he said during that still stick with me today and I know always will.

Agreed. One of my favorite college players ever. I think my parents still have my #7 Gator jersey.

I am a lsu fan, and Weurffel tore my Tigers up while I was in college, but I loved that dude. Great player, and even greater person!

Did you know Colin Cowherd was McElwain's roommate in college?

4 years, 4 SEC titles (started 3 played a bit in 4th I think), no other SEC QB can say that at least not in the title game Era.

That he played the entire 1996 loss to FSU, even with Bowden's self admitted cheating (he literally told his players to hit late after play had let up in order to knock Danny out-- "hit on the echo of the whistle" and hits that today would get people suspended was amazing-- just as tough in his own way as Tebow.

Dude was sick, absolutely sick.

He whooped LSU's arse yearly, but I had mad respect for him.
