re: Tom Herman looks to be a great coach and would've been great for the SEC at LSU.

Agreed. For the life of me I don't understand how LSU didn't get him. Don't get me wrong, I like O, great guy, great character, good recruiter and assist coach, but a head coach he isn't.

LSU's administration was making the point that no rebuild was necessary, that O could maintain the program because talent was here and his hiring would avoid a massive overhaul.
But if there was a massive rebuild necessary, O is the guy you want to build your program?

Not likely. The reality is probably that Alexander wouldn't let Alleva spend a lot of money on a new coach and Alleva didn't have what it took to hire a good one even if he had money to spend, so they took the easy and cheap way out and the narrative you mention was bullshite they made up to justify it. Nobody actually paying attention would have fallen for it because the decline in talent, especially on both lines, was obvious.

OP is an LSU fan who wanted a new place to melt. Move along, people; nothing to see here.

I'm not saying they won't. But right now they suck and have sucked for a while. So any pride in that win is very misplaced.

Well no shite, zerO is one of the worst coaches in SEC history. I'd still prefer other coaches rather than Herman.

Okay.

Florida, Auburn, Ole Miss, Alabama, Arkansas, and Tennessee are all going to beat LSU

It's mostly about recruiting early on when taking over a failed program. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

So, let me get this straight OU, OK State, and TCU in your opinion aren't any better than Florida(terrible), OM(lost to cal), Arky( lost to TCU and wasn't close), and UT( see florida).

Dude those teams aren't even in the same conversation as OU, OK state and TCU. K state is the only team listed that would be a fairly bad loss...I would also be willing to bet LSU wins at least two of the games you mentioned if not 3.
