Interesting

More than likely just coach speak, but I do wonder if this would be off putting to Coach Herman. LSU is obviously putting forth an effort to get him, but he may see it as a huge over looming distraction for his current program.

I'd be pretty pissed if I was Herman.

Trying to keep his team together for a run at a playoff spot and LSU pushing this distraction.

That means he's interested. Otherwise he'd say "yeah they called and I'm not interested I love coaching at a glorified high school"

I just wanna see the world burn.

Want Houston to go undefeated and Louisville's only loss to be to Houston and both make the playoff

This is the whole problem with firing Les so early. With every loss this season LSU fans will demand to see where Herman signed in blood he is coming and Joe won't be able to produce it. I would be amazed if Joe is the LSU AD in four years time.

He aint worried about it dude until his agent contacts him. Everything is going through his agent right now and if there is something to discuss his agent will tell him.

+1

LSU needs to be cool and let the man coach his hardworking kids.

Definitely coach speak.

Spent a lot of time explaining why he won't comment on leaving. You can tell in his body language he's set on leaving but he still has his dedication to his players through the end of the season, which is the professional way to handle things.

Hopefully LSU moves equally methodically.

You're all wrong about this. Clearly, Tom Herman is scared.

Man, Bama fans are going to hammer y'all if Herman actually comes after denying there's anything going on.

Eh I think saying he hasn't talked to LSU is a bit different from saying "I will NOT be the next head coach of LSU"

Absolutely.

I looked in his eyes and he was clearly saying "Baton Rouge is my home" with his eyes.

But not as different as you'd like. It's the same basic principle, really -- don't go around telling people you're looking at, or taking, other jobs when you still have an obligation to your current team.

And he's going to have lots and lots of opportunities to dig that hole deeper over the next three months. You know people are going to keep asking with more and more urgency as the moment of decision approaches.

Seems like a good dude. He won't get mad or upset with this. It's flattering that your output makes you a target. Having success made him a hot name. He understands how the deal works.
