Good post, but the math doesn't work.

Too early for this, but here we go:

Missouri - 10-2, (6-2) losses to UGA, Arky
Georgia - 9-3, (5-3) losses to AU, Bama, UT
Tennessee - 8-4, (5-3) losses to OU, UF, Bama, Mizzou
Florida - 7-5, (4-4) losses to OM, Mizz, LSU, UGA
USCe - 7-5, (3-5) losses to UGA, Mizzou, LSU, UT, UF
Kentucky - 6-6, (2-6) losses to everyone except Vandy and MSU
Vandy - 3-9, (0-8) lose to everyone

Well Thought out reply though I could easily see Florida and UT reversed. The Florida defense could make the difference.

I don't see UT losing to Carolina at home. Especially since we've won the last 2 games with much less experienced and talented teams.

But hey, embrace your inner homer.

What do 10 past years have anything to do with this year? Also why would anyone pick division standing based off of a streak in the past involving two teams? Your argument holds no water. Anyone who is even a little informed knows that UT is a much, much better team than UF on paper this year.

Can you imagine the potential butthurt if UGA goes on an 11 game winning streak and then loses to Georgia Tech and then drops the SEC championship game?

We may have been a "Cinderella", but UT is still the ugly stepchild.

I don't know about this. Much better?

UF is going to be disgusting on defense again, with perhaps the best secondary in the entire country, and one of the better DL's in the SEC. LB is the only place where they aren't exceptional, and even there, they should be pretty good by most standards. I don't think many people expect, even with all the returning starters, UT to finish ahead of UF in defense this year...

On offense, UT last year only averaged 371 yards per game while UF average 368. UF was actually #56 in scoring offense last year, at 30.3 PPG, while UT was at 28.9 PPG and #65 overall. UF makes, potentially, huge coaching gains on that side of the ball over the previous staff, have decent players at every position, check the recruiting rankings.

On paper, UF has been SO MUCH WORSE the last few years than they should have been. Looking on paper, UF should have won the SEC east last year. Paper is meaningless. Production is what counts.

And UT has failed to come up with winning football plays for many, many years now in big games. Until it starts happening, I won't believe they can actually win the division.

Until someone stops them, I'm saying Mizzou will win the East again. Pinkel just doesn't seem to run out of playmakers. And even when he does, it doesn't seem to matter.

I don't think we lose to OU this year. To put it in context, I didn't think we had a shot in hell last year against them but this year we can beat them. I think OU is a tossup that leans our way because it's at Neyland.

I give you UF because you could field scarecrows wearing UF jerseys and we'd find a way to lose.

I assume, based on recent history and the last 2 years where Butch has royally shite the bed, that UT will find a way to lose the UF game, no matter how badly UF tries to give it away.

I might give you OU, maybe it will be 2006, kind of like when UT just surprised the hell out of Cal and beat the shite out of them.

But OU was a way of being deceptively good when people aren't counting on them to do much, so I won't pick against them, especially with Butch's record against decent teams.

Meh I don't blame last year on Jones. I blame it on our oline being so fricking awful and your defense eating Worley up (he was not good enough to survive that - few are). Looking back Worley shouldn't have played that game but when he got injured the game before against UGA, he got worked on and came back into the game like a boss.
