Just wanted to give props to Todd.
Bill Polian asked your typical pre-draft questions that most teams ask a running back when evaluating him, and his answers were spot on. Very impressive.

Remembering back to LSU UGA game in 2013, it was clear (as an LSU fan) that Gurley > Hill. I see what Jeremy Hill can do in the NFL and would love for my team to draft him tonight. He has 0 negatives except his past injury, but this is an unavoidable risk with every player.

Where do you see him going tonight?
Running backs don't go top 10 very often anymore, but Gurley is special. If Falcons pass on him at 8, he won't fall too far as the Dolphins will take him at 14. (If they don't trade up for him) My pick: Miami

He has improved his stock dramatically since cutting ties with UGA. Good for him

The only question is how teams view his injury. Some may understandably be concerned, I mean he may still be somewhat ginger into fall camp. It's only been 5 months since he tore it up. If he were 100% healthy, he would easily be a top 10 pick, without question. He was the best RB in college football.

As you indicated by your post, perhaps unintentionally, is you can get a RB who will give you 1200+ yards easily in the 2nd round.

That's the issue, is a couple hundred yards a year worth a first round pick when every team has needs elsewhere as well.

I think he and Gordon go first round, but I think they fall into the 20s.

I'll say Gurley goes...23 to the Lions

I would be shocked if he fell that far.

Really? I am trying not to devalue him (because I do think he's a first round talent) but trying to take the current NFL into account

LINK All of these have him at 17 to the Chargers

I forgot about Miami. Them or Falcons are a good spot for him as both teams have good skill players. Miami is getting better and I can see that team making some real offensive noise next season.

ESPN NFL Nation has him going to the Lions (FWIW)

So, that would support the claim that it would be a surprise if he fell to 23, yes?

The Falcons would be wise to go for defense at number 8. In a year stocked with dline help, this is as close as they will get to shooting fish in a barrel.

Surprise and shock are not the same thing to me. I would be shocked if he didn't go in the first 2 rounds. I would be surprised if he didn't go in the first round

Yes, I could see this. But that's Miami's call if he falls that far. Miami is in love with him. More than the Jets and Falcons, and IMO the Jets definitely won't pick him that high and the Falcons should not. (Although this would be a huge PR move)

He's a great player and Miami needs a RB, but Miami needs a tackle badly too. Hell Miami need a lot

Hard to pinpoint a pick for me. I think somebody will trade up or down to get him in the 10-15 range.

I actually think he's potentially most valuable to a team with a bad OL to create a running game from nothing. I think the Jets could make sense to trade back and get Gurley and another pick.

ETA: I think his value in inflated somewhat in a draft with a really weak OL class. I don't see an OT who wouldn't be a huge reach for the Dolphins at 14.

If you mean OT then yeah, I'm not the greatest at evaluating OL talent. I can only go off of what "experts" say. But IMO the Dolphins downfall was their running game last year, and they got rid of nearly all their WRs except for Jarvis Landry.
This would make Gurley very valuable to them if he can be the guy for them offensively.

The dolphins have more pressing issues than RB. Lamar Miller isn't all world but he's servicable. They have so many other needs though that should be priorities if they want to take the next step. With that said, I'd be downright giddy to see him in miami.

Are there any teams with everything in place besides a running back that are drafting in the top 20?

I'm not familiar enough with the NFL to be able to answer that, but I'd be curious to know that.

The teams that stick out to me the most are the Lions and the Cardinals. The Cardinals really want to trade for AP, but Lions also need a RB. Both teams may pick too late.

With Philadelphia taking the starting RB's from the Chargers and Cowboys, they will need replacements. San Diego picks 3 spots behind Miami, but Cowboys may pick too late.

Throw Falcons, Dolphins, and Jets in there, but they need more help somewhere else and don't answer your question.

With that being said, I still think Miami takes him.
